Do you mean coolant temperature gauge? I don't think cars normally have both coolant and oil temperature gauges as it would be somewhat redundant. I don't think my RX has an oil temperature gauge anywhere in the gauge cluster.

I've had oil PRESSURE gauges on some older cars but not sure I've seen oil temp.
I don't know of any way to check oil temperature on a Lexus. While it would be a novelty to have, I don't think it's a necessity. Coolant temp would accomplish pretty much the same thing.

I don't agree. I had an oil temperature (and oil pressure gauge) on my '99 Vette. What it showed was that, as in most cars, the water temperature reached normal in 5-10 minutes of driving, but it took much longer (I'm guessing 15-20 minutes or more) for the oil to get to it's stable operating temperature. This made it very clear how it takes quite a bit of driving to boil off the water formed from combustion that condenses in the cold oil. In other words, short drives are not the best for engines.

Short trips may not be good for engines and oil temperature may lag coolant temp but that still doesn’t make an oil temp gauge necessary - it would be a novelty in the RX. I doubt there are many people doing track days in their RX.

Agree. I don't even see a need for a tach in an RX! (for me anyway)
I like the tach and I use it all the time. It's in the HUD and since I downshift a lot I keep my eye on it. I have a motorcycle without a tach and I don't need it because I can hear the rpms, not so much in the RX.
