Default Adding radar cruise control and lane departure centering

Interested in adding radar cruise control and lane departure control to a 2017 RX 350. Should have ordered those features when I bought the car but didn’t. Is there a way to add it now? Any idea how much?

a 2017 should have those options standard I'm pretty sure. but if not, you're better off trading it in instead of trying to add it.

Whereas ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) really adds value to the drive safety & comfort, I'm less positive on Lane Departure Control.

This being said, my recommendation is to NOT retrofit them with aftermarket solutions (there are some companies offering shady solutions), as these technologies cannot easily be linked with the existing electronic control modules. Considering that these systems can mean the difference between a car nicely driving along and smashing into the back of another vehicle or going out of the road, plus serious concerns over liability will most likely keep ACC & LDC firmly within the domain of the original equipment manufacturers. You might ask a knowledgeable Lexus electronics technician about his/her thoughts.

I'm confused. The all-speed radar cruise and LDA with LKA was standard on the 2017 RX350. They were optional on the 16, but standard for 17. How can you have a 17 without those features?

Sparky, those features ARE standard equipment on your 2017 RX. Look closer.

Right steering wheel spoke, lower edge buttons. Two parallel lines with a car driving to the right
is the Lane Keep Assist button, press it and see the same icon lit up just above the odometer.

Button next to LKA is the following distance selector when using Cruise Control. Does nothing
when not using cruise but when you have turned on cruise you will see 3/2/1 blue bars in front
of a car icon in the Driver Information Center between the Tach and Speedo. The indicate that
you will arrive at the point on the road that the car in front of you passed 3/2/1 seconds later.

Any possibility that Sparky in NY has a Canadian market RX? Did we all get Safety System in 2017?

Mine was built in Canada, sold in the US.

Nearly all RX's are built at Cambridge ON. Hybrid 450h's and any 350's with HUD used to be
built in Japan but that changed a couple of years ago.

I just took delivery of a 2019 RX350L that came from Japan. Purchased it at a dealer in NW Ohio but it came from a dealer on the east coast. Even my sales guy was a bit surprised it didn’t come from Canada.

Unless something changed very recently, all L models are built in Japan.

Default adaptive cruise control for 2016

Recently bought a 16 and I got it financed before the interest hikes. Selling it would me losing a lot in drop in market + interests...

How much of a hassle would it be to add adaptive cruise control? Has anyone ever done this?

Anyone know of the ventilated seats? I am really good with cards and have built cars for a bit. Any solid technical input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

@androdz
It may be possible to add radar cruise control using OEM parts. Here is a thread from a user who successfully added OEM adaptive cruise control to their Lexus GX that did not originally have it from the factory. He did it himself, I wouldn’t expect a dealer or shop to do it for you for liability reasons. I am not aware of any other instances of this modification that were successful.
