Remote start for Hawaii Lexus owners?
Does anyone know of a way to get remote start to work in Servco Lexus vehicles? Servco is the distributor of all Lexus vehicles that are sold in Hawaii. Servco Lexus does not have Enform available on their 2019 and earlier RX models so it is not possible to start the vehicle via the phone app. The salesperson I spoke to said that the 2020 models might have that capability but they are not sure.
Further, the dealer will not install a remote starter and said the only way to get remote start to work is to have a third party installer do the installation or to install one myself. So I called Best Buy and various other local security alarm companies that install remote starters but they said Viper and other manufacturers of remote starters that support remote start for Lexus do not have workable solution for the 2019 RX 450H. All the companies I called, however, do have a starter for the 2018 RX models. They said if I wait long enough one will likely become available at which point they could install it.
It seems virtually impossible to currently install remote start unless I do it myself. And I do not want to DIY install a remote starter as I don't want to risk damaging anything in the vehicle. If anyone here has any viable solutions to get remote start to work in their (Hawaii) vehicles, please let me know. I am looking to purchase an RX 450HL and remote start functionality is important to me. Thank you in advance for any help

FYI- Toyota/Lexus seems to frequently make "invisible" changes to various systems in their vehicles that create problems for aftermarket manufacturers. Example: the 2019 Tundra had changes made to the engine computer so that none of the previous performance chips for Tundra engines would work on a 2019. Some new buyers were not pleased.
I'll second the opinion that installing a remote starter is NOT a DIY project. Best left to the "experts". Good luck!

Thank you for your responses RickC5 and ravenuer. I should clarify that there are remote starters available to purchase online (for DIY install with detailed youbtube video tutorials) that supposedly work on the 2019 RX 450HL but they are not supported by the local security alarm shops including Best Buy. They only currently have starters for MY 2018 and earlier.. I don't mind waiting... but my concern is a product doesn't become available at all. They did say that is a chance but it unlikely. If the 2020 RXs have Enform capability as the dealer believes, I may be willing to wait for it to arrive. But I don't want to wait and pay more for the 2020 if it ultimately won't work on that model either.

What about a Canadian remote start system? I have a 2016 RX350 with remote start. It is a second fob that looks a bit like the regular key fob with a Lexus logo on it. I think it was dealer installed. I bought the car used.

I am in Oahu as well, and was told that Hawaii only supports Enform on certain refreshed or redesigned models, like the NX and ES. Since the RX is getting a refresh in 2020 model, it might have Enform. I think the way you tell if the vehicle is supported with Enform or not is whether or not it has the SOS button near the map lights. My 2017 RX450h does not have the SOS button.

I installed this one in under 30 minutes. Works GREAT (have had it for over a year now). All plug and play. No wire cutting whatsoever and can be removed easily as well. They have an add on for a Smart Phone app that allows you to start it from anywhere.
