Track pad usefulness?

Verbal commands are the ticket as long as you don't have a cabin full of noisy children/pets/carpoolers/ax murderers.
She doesn't listen as quickly as we do so be sure to wait briefly before speaking. Always start your command with a verb:
Dial, Call, Find, Show, Raise, Tune. Our phones work better than pre-2018 models because they reach out to a server.
Dynamic Navigation and Dynamic Voice debut in 2018 with a 36 month trial. Now you can (almost) get Siri type responses
by using a standard English sentence. "Find nearest Wendy's", "Tune satellite channel Bluesville", "Show previous destinations"

Thank you for calming my nerve regarding the trackpad. I bought a 2022 RX450h yesterday. Two main reasons: I want the proven V6 engine, and I don't want waiting for months (year?) for the 2023 model.
The touchscreen works fine. I do have to reach a little bit for the right side of the screen but I don't see doing it often during a drive.
Voice commands work fine and eliminate a lot of touching/reaching.
The trackpad is tolerable, and I don't see using it much during a drive.
With Apple CarPlay, well, it seems many of the above issues/concerns would be mitigated.
My wife only plans to use the physical buttons for climate control and stereo. That makes life simple :-)
Anyway, those are my impression after 1 day with the car. I may, or may not, change my view as times goes on.
Thanks.
