Default Changing wheels on a lease vehicle

I was thinking about having my RX F-Sport wheels powder coated to Black Chrome or buying the OEM Black chrome wheels. I'm just concerned changing the wheels (Same style) but different color may be an issue when I return my lease in 2022.

Anyone have any experience with lease returns and modifications with their RX or other Lexus models?

Generally, you can modify as long as it's not permanent and can be put back to factory spec upon lease return.

Warranty of course can be voided depending on what the modification is, so be mindful of that (although wheel color change shouldn't really affect anything). Some dealers may be willing to overlook certain modifications on a lease return. Your mileage may vary.

Powder coating is considered a permanent change, so I wouldn't do it. Buy the wheels you want and keep the originals.

If you are replacing the wheels with OEM ones for the same model vehicle, I don't think you'd have any problems, but I'd check with Lexus just in case.

Wheel color change when they offer the wheel OEM in the color I want that’s not much of a mod! I’m not talking about exhaust and intakes here.

I agree. Otherwise, you could always ask someone at the dealer. Just be aware that when your lease is up, that person may, or may not remember what he/she told you, or may not even be there anymore!
