what does the “2x” mean on the power door close button on the bottom of the rear door?

I think that means if you push the "Close" button two times, it will close the tailgate and lock all doors.

That is correct, however, be advised you MUST have your smart key in your pocket or near the rear gate for that to work. If you don't have it, instead of getting the "two tone" beep you will only get one beep and the door will close but will not lock. This one had me stumped when I first tried it because I didn't have my key on my person.
