2020 RX USB Music and Android Auto/apple Carplay
Hello Lexus owners,
Does anyone know if you can listen to music from a USB stick and use Android Auto or use apple carplay at the same time for navigation.
I can select USB as source and listen to music just fine, but the moment I connect my phone to the other USB spot in the center console it removes the USB option from audio.
Another issue: Turning off the car when Android auto music is playing will cause the music to start playing through the phone.

We have the same issue when connected via USB drive in the center console box for music files but once we connect AA with the 2nd USB it will stop playing music and AA override it. I think is setup this way
My issue is I'm trying to find ways to lower AA guidance voice since it is little loud. I have tried asking google and let it speaks than quickly lower both phone or car volume but no avail.

I also found out AA/CP disabled my Bluetooth connections as well. It looks like big draw back using CarPlay. On top of that not sure if iOS bug Apple Music skipping songs using CP which no problem if I listen without connect to car.

I always see people complaining about not having AA or CP in their new cars but with our 2 newer model cars we are driving (2020 RX350 and 2018 Civic) I don't see what is so good about it.
It freezes often and it takes away some of the function I normally uses in my car.
I commute everyday into Hoboken and I just use Waze for up to minute best route into work.
When I listen to music I just use my USB drive to store all my music. Maybe there are functions I still don't use but others do.

Not sure about the freezing/crash, did not experience crashing yet.

waze Plus Spotify is a good combo for nav and music. Well integrated on CP

For 2020 RX, it come with 3 year Lexus app use which includes remote start, lock, unlock and diagnostic.

I just bought a 2020 RX350 and I am using the Keyfob as well as the Lexus App on my phone to start the car. I wish the Lexus app would let me set the temperature of the car using the app. I also don't like the fact that when I use either the Keyfob or the app to remote start my car it stops immediately when I get to the car. If you have the Keyfob in your pocket it should keep running and if you don't then it should stop the car (theft protection)

Can you please clarify what you mean that it stops? In my Cadillac, it stays on for 5 min (and it can be renewed for another 5 min) by the app or the fob. It doesn’t turn off when you get to the car and once you are in it all you need to do is press the start button (the car is still running). This takes the car to the normal ON mode from remote ON mode. You can’t enter the car unless you have the fob. I pay nothing for these features including the app start which is free.
Also, does the RX have auto lock feature when you turn off and walk away from the vehicle with the fob?
I can send navigation addresses to my caddy Nav from my app and it loads up as soon as I start the car. Does RX app do this?
thanks in advance.

Sorry for late response. I was able to confirm that the Lexus RX350 2020 is designed to work this way. Whether or not I use my phone app to start the car or the Keyfob, after I start the car it will turn off the minute I touch the door handle and open the door EVEN if I have the Keyfob in my pocket. They said it was an anti-theft issue.
I can go into the setup of the car and program it to lock the car. The manual says" 60 seconds after the vehicle is unlocked,
the security feature automatically locks the vehicle again.". I don't think it will automatically lock the doors when I leave with the keyfob but I will check. I know when I leave the car in my garage and go in the house with the keyfob the app on my phone sends me a message that the door is unlocked.
By the way, there is no way for me to make the car honk the horn when I press the lock buttom.
