Default Fuel Pump Recall

Just read about a fuel pump recall that effects some 2018 and 2019 RX350s.

From what I have read, letters will be sent out to owners in March, and Toyota does not have a fix yet.

curious what type of noise you hear? I was getting a chirping noise from my 2017 so they replaced the fuel pump or injector and it went away. There was a TSB

Fuel pump is in the gas tank, correct? I don't see how you would hear that unless it was utterly broken.

You are correct. This recall is for the low pressure pump, which is located in the fuel tank.

This means the rear seat will be taken apart, that's where the Fuel Pump is. I do not know if our cars use Denso Fuel Pumps.

Total is around 450,000 for all Lexus vehicles.
2017-2019 RX350 in scope.
Dealers need to train techs for working on fuel tanks to Lexus safety standards.
No parts available at this time.
Symptoms are all related to low, or no, fuel delivery. And what that will cause. i.e. poor performance, stuttering, stalling, unable to start.
If engine stalls in traffic, loss of power steering and power brakes, which could lead to other unfortunate issues.

Neither is mine, but I've also heard that this problem was for 2018 and later so who really knows?
