Default Not sure about Acura

I owned MDX, both 2001 (first model) and again in 2004. To be honest, After all the quality issues with the MDX (warped small brake rotors at 600 miles from Accord not covered by warranty, electric seat problems, bad dealer, no available spare parts, CV boots bad at 1000, not covered by warranty...etc.) I made a decision that no more Honda or Accura. MDX is built like a car and driving in the winding hills seems to take a toll on the MDX. Switched to Lexus and been happy ever since. Better dealer/service, much better quality and spare parts are available and very affordable.
MDX is also super expensive, and there is more hype than reality about these so called MDX SUV. With Lexus both GX & RX, even with a slightly higher price tag, I never regretted it. My 2 cents.

I had my cousin drive both and went with the RDX Advanced SH - AWD. It is a definitely a good vehicle. I do love the Drive assist which I feel may be a bit better. But something about the RX feels just more refined and well finished

Default Switching from Acura

Hi all, looking to switch to an rx 350 once my rdx lease is up. Anyone switch from Acura to an rx? Are you guys pretty happy with your vehicle? Are the new ones as reliable as the previous rx models? I kind of want to buy for long term given Lexus’ reputation for reliability and the car seems to have everything I want. Does anyone know if Lexus is planning any major updates next year? Thanks in advance!

Well the RX is more like the MDX, quite a bit bigger than the RDX. When I bought mine in 2017 I did look at the MDX, but it did not mesure up then, perhaps the newer ones are better.

Yes, forgot to mention I’m looking for a slightly bigger vehicle than my rdx (we have one child and may have another). Want to look outside of acura. Can anyone comment on third row usability of the 350L?

Third row 350L is terrible. Not even a toddler could sit with there legs out, they'd have to sit indian style. If 3 row is important to you, get the MDX 2022 or maybe the Infiniti QX60 2022.

Hmm it’s not that important to me, I want the third row more for the extra cargo space (will likely keep it folded down at all times). The cargo space in the regular 350 seems a bit smaller than my rdx

Just my .02, but I drove the MDX Aspec, liked it and put a deposit on one... The dealership was supposed to have one for me in a few weeks, but they could not get one by the time my offer had expired (well, I thought it expired)... that is another story.

Anyway, I poked around on the MDX forums while waiting, and saw that a lot of people were having issues with rattles, noises, and other quirks of a refresh. Also, there is the NO touch screen and the weird touch pad that you have to use to control the radio/entertainment system.

I decided to test drive a RX 350, and found that it was wonderful... so I bought one.

Good to be here,
Chris

Is Lexus still doing the 0% 60 month financing or was that a promo last year?

I bought the F sport with the Handling package.
I did not get that rate, although:
I did get 1500 rebate and 1000 off for prior military.
They discounted 2K off of the MSRP
They did give me more than I actually paid for my truck almost 4 years ago when I purchased it new.

To be honest, I could have gotten a little more out of them, but I just didn't have the energy and I wanted out of the truck.

Good to be here,
Chris

No experience with Acura but a colleague at work is a devoted owner. Last one TLX - he dumped after two years after many weeks spent at the dealer with numerous issues. Next up RDX - trans blew up at roughly 40K miles - repaired under warranty of course. I'm not visiting an Acura dealer anytime soon knowing this.

Is the panoramic camera only available with the navigation package?

I recall seeing that on the new MDX. Can't remember if it's in the Tech package.

I used to have 2 different MDX and many other Honda/Acura products in the past. The transmission was the weak spot for the MDX besides the VCM (cylinder deactivation) isn't something you'll want. Lots of issues with engines problems from it. IMO, I'm staying away from Acura/Honda due to reliability.

It's not on the Tech package. I'm too lazy to pull up the brochure. To get the paranormic view, it'll cost you at least $60K drive out. Acura is not discounting the MDX 2022 at all. I tried hard for weeks. I'm glad I went with the RX, reliability is more important.

Correction: I looked it up. It's the Advance trim for the 360 camera.
