Hi,

I would like to know the first 5000 miles service for new Lexus: does dealership suppose to change the motor oil (looks like they didn't)? I did it this morning and the report says reset service light and 27 points inspection. it is a complimentary service but on invoice i saw they charged Lexus $169.00

Also anyone knows 2020 Rx350 engine using timing belt or chain? Please advise.

Uses a chain. The 5,000 mile service is basically a tire rotation and a bunch of inspections of things that don't need inspection. I always skip the 5000, 15000, 25000 mile service.

 

Skip them all and just do what needs to be done. The scheduled services are money grabs for the dealer. Check this, inspect that, $350 please.

 

First oil change at the dealer is FREE at 10,000 miles or 1 year whichever comes first.
