If you use auto mode, it'll switch from recirc to fresh air at 72 degrees.

I use the auto mode all the time. Works well. It helps keeping pollutant, smells, and smog out of the cabin. Wished there was a way to set sensitivity, so it would react a little faster.

I tried it out today, it seems to work fine even in the busy city. I initially avoided it because we have a lot of congestion and construction in Toronto so I didn't want those fumes and dust getting into the cabin, but the auto seems to be ok based on my very limited testing.

Pretty sure I will hate it when I get stuck behind a dump truck and forget to turn it off haha

If you dig through the settings in the infotainment screen, there's actually a setting for Smog Sensor Sensitivity.

Although mine is on the most sensitive level and I don't notice much of a difference in how it operates compared to a lower sensitivity level when I leave it on AUTO.

Default Recirculated air vs. outside air modes.

Disregard.
