Road Noise

Road Noise
We purchased a new 2020 RX 350 earlier this year. The car is ok, but I am very disappointed in the level of road noise. We came from a 2017 Mercedes GLE which was much quieter inside when driving on the highway. I am very surprised given the Lexus reputation for a quiet ride. Any of you feel the same?

Personally for me, only the ES and LS hold up that reputation for a quiet ride these days. Everything else in the lineup is rather middle of the road when it comes to "quietness" and remember, it's quite a subjective thing too.
I will say though, the 4RX is much quieter than the 3RX, but it's not as quiet as some of the rivals. If you have an RX F-Sport, you may find the sound generator to be annoying after a while too.

Maybe German engineering. My brother's Audi & BMW are quieter, but more expensive vehicles. My RX is better than my Chevy & the Acura I had.
Overall it's better than any SUV I've owned and test drove in the same price range. If it's overly loud you may have a seal problem in the windows or door jams.
Ride in another one and compare the road noise to yours, and let us know what you find out.

I find my 2020 F Sport to be very quiet, I came from a 2018 Buick Enclave Avenier and I though that was a quiet car, the RX beat that. On the other hand the wife 2018 NX 300 it horrible, we did a road trip in it once, never again.

I had a friend a few years ago leased an NX 300 and was not happy with it as you said. I believe he replaced it with an RX 350 and was quite happy with it.

My 2020 RX450h is very quiet, more so than the 2013 ES300h and 2015 ES350 I traded in for it.. Very happy with my purchase. By the way, we have the 20" Michelin Tires.

Those Bridgestones are notoriusly noisy. We have the 20" wheels with Goodyear Maxlifes. Very quiet ride.

Our MY 16' is awesome. Running some Hankooks and they are ultra-quiet. Also no squeaks or rattles. It's one of the quietest cars I've owned and I also currently own a 20' 330i.
Usually, the culprit is the OE equipped tires which are selected for better fuel economy vs quieter ride.
