I am also from Houston TX. The used Lexus market in this area is highly inflated because people are willing to pay for them. Even a local dealership here has a non-haggle policy on their CPOs. I'd try to work on a really good deal for a new 2020. The difference would be about 6-7K or less vs a 2017 CPO but you'll get a new RX with 10 miles and full warranty. I see most of the time, a used 2019 is priced about the same, if not more expensive, vs. a 2020 after incentives.

If you insist on buying a CPO, try to work on an out of state deal and have them ship it to you. You'd still save money after shipping.

Probably I went to the wrong dealer. The one I checked with insisting that since RX350 is super popular the best he would offer is 0 APR financing option, but nothing else. I did tell him I wouldn't consider it at this price (~55, 500 for one equipped with navigation and premium package) and walked away, telling him let me know if there's a special going on or a futher discount is possible. He never called back so I guess he does not have too much problem selling them at MSRP here.

But yeah, thanks for raising the idea of get one out of state and ask them to ship. Never thought about this option before.

I am glad you walked away. There is no way they can sell the left over 2020s for MSRP. The 2021s are already here. It will be at least 10% discount before any rebates. Check other dealerships (Sterling McCall/Clear Lake = same owner, Northside and Westside are hit and miss on pricing). Don't forget Sewell Lexus in the Dallas/FW area too.

Here's the deal I got in Dallas, TX earlier this year if that helps you for reference.

2017 Lexus RX350 F-Sport AWD - every option minus HUD. White/black, 35k miles. One owner, super clean. Certified pre-owned at Park Place Lexus Grapevine. Car had been listed for 2 days at $38k. I offered $36k, and settled on purchase price of $36,700

That looks like a pretty good deal to me! When I looked around I feel the dealers in Dallas is more reasonable at pricing at first place compared to those in Houston. The best I got right now is $35k, AWD but the base model, similar mileage and equipped with premium/naviagation plus some stand alone add-ons. Listed $40k though.
