Question Found a gap on front passenger side trim

Hi,

I recently purchased a RX 350 F Sport 3 in Canada, I found out there have a small gap on front passenger side trim (I will attach photo below) I’m not sure this is normal issue or not because when I watch YouTube review about RX, I noticed that the car has this issue as well. Any one have the same problem ?

I do have it too, but I did not make much of it. Mine is a 2016.

I have it. Actually, I have a couple. I just train myself to look the other way. I have 2020.

My 2018 has it. Using a flashlight, I can see that the space is regular, and the back of it is the same color as that part of the dashboard. I would say it was a deliberate design item -- the reason is not obvious.

I went to dealership today, and I found all RX have this, except the RX L, do you think because the RX L is make in Japan, so that has better quality?

Where's the RX made? Something misaligned it looks. I wonder if the dealer would fix it under warranty?

It’s made in Ontario, Canada

I went to dealership, they said they will order new part for me , but I’m not sure if I want to replace the new trim or not since it’s a new car. Also, I worry about after they remove the trim will create rattles.
Should I replace it ? What you guys think?

Ahhh -- correction, I do NOT have that kind of gap, I looked at the space UNDER the silver piece. Sorry.

Wow, that does look like a bad fit. And replacing the silver piece won't fix the uneven surface above the edge of it. Something is wrong with the mating surface on the dash -- it may or not be repairable by the dealer. If the dealer can't offer more than replacing the part that doesn't appear to have a problem, I'd be tempted to send that photo to the Lexus corporate people and ask for repair or replacement under warranty. And shame on the Cambridge factory for letting that go out the door.
