Using Waze with Android Auto?

In the past I have easily used the program Waze on the RX350 screen. I just got a new Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone, which has android 12 operating system. Now I no longer see the icon for android auto, but it apparently is on the phone since I am unable to download it to the phone. I understand that Google now is not showing the app and will be using Google Assistant instead of android auto.
Without being able to open android auto I am unable to show Waze on the auto screen.
Anyone else having this problem? What do you suggest be done?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Open Android Auto on your phone and go to settings. make sure Waze is check marked as an app that would be displayed. If it is and still does not show, you might have to un install and re-install waze.
I had that in the past. I find Waze to be very glitchy on Android Auto. Ironic since they are both from the same company, but I guess once companies get too big left hand doesn't talk to right hand......

Can someone direct me to a link or tell me how to make WAZE my default Nav rather than Google Maps when using Android Auto? I have a dongle to use it wireless so that works ok. I just want the WAZE app to show on my Lexus screen and to default to it when I start the car rather than Google Maps..
