Onboard Computer Sys. Lockup!

Onboard Computer Sys. Lockup!
After having my new 2017 1 week on the way to work I had the entire system lockup on me. Backed out of garage, turned onto road, and switched from USB music to radio and everything was working fine. Moments later I went to switch fan speed and noticed that the fan logo didn't come up on 12" screen like it usually does. Then I noticed nothing worked. No control over joystick, no maps, no heat changes, radio would not change modes or even up and down volume was all dead. 1/2 hour later I arrive at work and turn car off then back on and all is working again.
Anyone else have this happen? Only thing different is the day before I swapped out USB drive with more music in folders 255 max per folder, but that was all working fine for a day before this?

Screen lockups do happen; but thankfully not often. If it does happen again, you can reset the screen by holding down the audio power button for 5-6 seconds; just like you would to force-power down your PC.

That is good info to have, thank you. Ya, not being able to control anything was a bit concerning. My 2016 Rav had a similar system, and in 4 years I never had a system freeze like today.

OP, this is good information and I can back it up by saying that my Canadian Dealership installed two major updates to the system (one for the onboard computer chipset and another for the navigation and entertainment system) since I had this 2017 RX 350 (I brought it in 2017). I never ever had a screen freezing issue but Lexus Canada told me one of these updates is to fix the freezing issues. You should contact your Lexus dealership (or if you are in Canada, you can contact 1-800 number for Lexus Canada and they will give you where to go with a ticket number). Idk about other countries, but these updates were free for me and they also did a complementary free full service and tire rotation as an apology by Lexus Canada.
Many complaints I read about here IMO seem to be caused by very poor dealer practices.
