For those of you with 2020+ RXs with factory wired CarPlay support, has anyone tried any of those adapters that convert wired CarPlay to wireless CarPlay? There are a multiple choices available, but here are some I found on google:

1) https://cplay2air.com/
It says it supports "Lexus 2019-2020". In fact the picture on the main page of their website is a Lexus, so that's promising.

2) https://carlinkitcarplay.com/
It says it works on the 2020 RX.

Ordered a Joyeauto for my Audi A4, will let you know how it works for wireless, with wired OEM CarPlay, if anyone is interested.
my 17 RX350 is still non CarPlay!
UPDATE works very well in my Audi. No lags .

I've seen the second one on your list at Amazon, and waiting for someone here to try it.

I had the play2air one. It didn’t work well. On the wired car play you control the cursor with the touch pad. With the wireless adapter if you use the trackpad, the Waze map moves around, not the cursor. I contacted them but never heard back. Save your money.

 

I have not purchased any of these b/c most of the reviews say that they are very buggy and lag. Great idea but implementation as of yet does not seem to be worth the money.

I wish that Lexus had made one of the ports outside the central storage area to be data also to make wired connection a bit easier. I get that they don't want you playing with phone while driving.....and I don't....that is why I like CarPlay. No need to fiddle with phone.

 

Thanks for the replies. If anyone else tries these please post your experience here. For my current usage I think wired is fine. I'm thinking ahead if Apple really does remove the lightning port from future phones as rumored I am hoping I can still find a way to use CarPlay on my new 2020.

 

I bought a brand new 2021 RX 350 L. This is my second RX and absolutely love it and absolutely love the CarPlay future. One of the things I don’t like this that I have to plug in the phone to use CarPlay. I’ve seen online a USB adapter that can turn the RX 350 into a wireless CarPlay. Has anyone use this and had success? If so which one??

 

I used this from Amazon on my 2021 rx 450hl as well as with my 2019 sienna. Working good so far. Once in a while, there was a glitch that I just had to unplug and plug the adaptor back.

It worked fine with my Lexus and Toyota. You can update after plugging into the car (update instruction is in the box)
