Sirius XM channels above 235
My 2018 RXh only receives Sirius XM channels up to 235. My 2020 Honda Ridgeline receives channels into the 300s and a few higher than that. Sirius wants to sell me an add on radio to receive these channels. No thanks. Dealerships "technology department" says they've never heard of the problem Is this a deficiency in the radio or is there a software upgrade or refresh needed? Anyone picking up these higher tier channels in their Lexus?

This is all based on product designation, Sirius or XM, and selected service (ex: All Access) you pay for .
Nothing to do with Lexus (which is XM signal) or Honda, Transmission and channel selection is based on product and access.
XM goes no higher than 235. Sirius is different. Internet streaming goes into the 800's.
Hope this helps...

Still confused. I have the exact same package in both the Honda and the Lexus. And both Honda and Lexus are XM radios...but one receives more channels than the other?

I did. They propose an add on radio that you would attach to the dash in some fashion. Not interested. I realize you can stream the channels from your phone but was hoping there was a software fix. Perhaps the radio just cannot go above 235.

The radio in my ES goes higher than 235 but I didn't check my wife's RX yet.

Thanks for the reply! I was hoping to find someone with an RX that was actually receiving those channels. That would narrow down the source of the problem.

I checked on my 2020 and was able to receive a handful of channels in the 300's. I'm guessing just a software limitation unless they changed the antenna to a better one when they did the refresh.

Before XM and Sirius merged various Automakers made the choice of one or the other.
After the merge in Jan 2011 they combined marketing and accounting but still had separate
broadcast networks. Even channels that were common to both had different channel numbers.
Now to the original question, those automakers such as Toyota that started with XM stayed with
the original channel offerings and the 250+ channels. Those such as VW that began with Sirius
began installing tuners that received the 35+ channel lineup.
My 2018 ES 300h was set up for the smaller format, our new 2020 ESh gets the higher group now.
