I bought my 2016 RX350 in May of this year as a certified L with 2 years bumper to bumper warranty included and the 1st 4 recommended maintenances are free. Does anyone know if this would include the spark plugs seeing they are “required” under the emission warranty. My RX has 67k miles and was purchased at 62k miles.

I have a 2018 RX450h. It's due for 60K mile service soon.
I wonder if anyone had spark plugs replaced for this service.
According to Lexus Maintenance it's required under terms of emission control warranty.
Thanks.

I have a 2017 RX350 with 60K miles. The dealer recommends replacing the spark plugs at a cost of $800+tax. I checked the VIN with the parts department and the OEM spark plugs are iridium tipped. Usually I don't change spark plugs until 90K. What are people's experience with going to 90K before replacing iridium tipped spark plugs?

The replacement recommendation, at 72 months or 60,000 miles, is only to comply with the "Emission Control Warranty" (whatever that is). I highly doubt that your plugs are worn out. Iridium plugs are very rugged and last a long time.
I will get mine changed at 100,000 miles and my local mechanic will do it for less than $350. $84 for six spark plugs (DENSO FK20HBR8) plus $240 labor.
I believe this subject was well covered in a another thread somewhere in this forum.

I owned a 2004 Highlander V6 with a plug replacement recommended at around 100k. At 135k I had the plugs changed at a Toyota dealer for about $400. The car ran great before and after the change. Not that much of a difference. The $800 quote is way out of line. For something like this, a good independent mechanic is the way to go.

I replaced mine at 60,000 as per U.S. Emissions requirements. If you have the tools, it is a 2 hour DIY job. I also replaced the Intake Mainifold and Throttle Body gaskets. The original plugs didn't look that bad but I have an extended warranty and don't want to complicate things just in case.
Parts were less than $90. Dealer price of $800 is crazy.

Regarding the 60,000 mile interval vs 120,000 miles:
I asked either Car Care Nut or Viktor (I think it was Viktor) this question awhile back and the reply was that this version of this engine was different (I assume tuning) and therefore 60,000 miles was the service interval. I even asked if it was an emissions requirement but that portion of the question was not addressed.
I plan on doing mine soon (probably around 65,000 miles when schedule allows).
That being said, I can not imagine that going longer would be much of a problem, especially if no other issues present themselves.

Update on my previous post.
Had my car seviced today at 144K-kms and was advised by my service-advisor (SA) dealer that the 10Year/192K-km or 120K-mile spark plug replacement is for MY 2010-2015.
For MY 2016-2022, mine is MY2017, it's 6Year/96K-km or 60K-mile whichever comes first .. SA did show me maintenance schedule off their Lexus portal and cost CA$910 ~ US$675![Confused](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
So I've missed the 96k-km/60k-mile interval but don't experience any issue ... now planning to have it done @ 160k-km/10k-mile mark. Thoughts? Tnx

Thanks for your inputs .. I think it will be good to have it done once it reaches 160K-kms/100K-miles which should be on it's 6th year-ish running
.
I'm still undecided to replace it with 5th-Gens and most probably will be hanging onto it for a couple more years
