I thought the RX came with iridium as OEM?? Manual shows 120K only and no replacement at 60K.

Ok, I read the manual and have came to a conclusion that the spark plugs are scheduled to be changed out so Lexus does not have to cover them under the emissions warranty.
On page 24 of the "Warranty and service guide", spark plugs are listed as a covered item but with a * saying it is warrantied until first scheduled service.
so yeah... I'm not changing it out until at least 90k because im not gonna pay for that bs twice... it's not cheap
please if anyone knows a tech who has done this job on a 4rx, try to find out if the car came with denso iridium plugs

Had a 2015 RX 450h and spark plugs called to be replaced at 120,000 miles. For some reason on my 2017, the manual calls for 60,000. Really want to know from Lexus why changed to half the life. Read in the forum where members changed at 100,000 or 120,000 miles and plugs looked new. Dealer wants $600. I will change mine at 100,000.

I have never changed them. Here is one guy with a RAV that never changed them for 247,000 miles.

Spark plugs change on 4th gen RX?
Hey all,
I couldn't find anything on the 4th generation RX, only the previous ones.
Is the spark plugs change on this generation easier than the previous? I saw that the 3rd gen you would have to take all the parts under the windshield off to reach the upper plugs.
Can anyone comment on this?
Thanks!

The front three are pretty simple as previous models for a transversely mounted V6. I was looking at the back three and it appears the intake manifold and plenum need to be removed too.

I will take a look later today as well. Not to sure how to take off the manifold and plenum.

There are some hex heads and torx heads securing the plenum to the engine. I am at 62k miles on my 16, but plan on swapping out the plugs around 100k. During that time, I'm going to subscribe for the two day Toyota TIS (technical information system) service manuals and download all the PDFs I may need for long term maintenance for the car.

Is this the same TIS you are referring to?

That is the one. If you pay for a subscription (your choice on the duration), you get access to the repair and service manuals used by Toyota and Lexus technicians for almost all the vehicles they have in service.
