Ignition switch
So I am in love with the new switch on the newer Lexus RX 350 2021s.
i did some research on my car and i notice that it has the exact same pins and the trim is exactly the same yet online it states that it will not fit my vehicle...so im a little confused..
do you think it will work? I dont like my push start button because it doesnt even light up booo.. posted pics for comparision old to knew.
Has anybody changed theirs yet?

Ok so this is what i can confirm for a fact.
1. first photo is from a 2021 RX 350 (dont ask how i got this photo =0)
2. second and third photo are the exact same wires from a 2016 RX 350 and a 2021 RX 350 (identical plugs and wires)
3. Last photo is my ignition switch from 2016 RX 350
So what are the chances the 2021 will work?

I noticed that since the newest model's parts are sometimes not in the database, that I get "parts won't fit message". This happened with several parts when I first picked up my 2020.
I have no idea for sure but would assume that no change took place with 2021 on this part.

^some fake carbon fibre trim around the circle and the button looks to be convex instead of concave.

Yes, it should work. Takes 2 minutes to make the swap.

cool, i didnt know you can just pull the leather side pieces off like that. that's good to know when I eventually take it all apart to add extra foam to prevent rattles / vibration noises from that center console

Nice video! You did a good job documenting the process with this video. Not to diminish from your effort, but I’m struck by how everything is just plastic clips holding it all together. Is there any wonder modern vehicles develop squeaks and rattles as they age, or as temperatures change. I imagine most brands are done this way so it isn’t a criticism of any particular carmaker, just an observation after seeing how easy it was to dismantle the dash.
