I love my 2017 RX-450 but for the price the cabin is not that quiet even with the Michelin tires. My 2015 RX-350 was way quieter inside and had way more comfortable seats. A far as a quiet cabin past vehicles I've owned like the Chevy Avalanche and Nissan Maxima were dead quiet compared to my RX. The seats in my Jeep Wrangler are far more comfortable on long trips, soft yet supportive. I bought the Lexus brand for reliability but am generally disappointed with the RX cabin road noise and seat comfort.

This 4th generation Rx is noisy. That is a fact. I recently was in 3rd generation and it was quieter. Go figure)))

Had a 2015 RX 450h and currently a 2017 RX 450h. I thought the 17 was much quieter so I did some research. The 2016 RX 450h is the same vehicle as the 2017. Here are decibel scores.
2011 RX 450h idle 44.1
55 mph 54.3
70 mph 65.6
2016 RX 450h idle 32.1
55 mph 52.1
70 mph 59.8
2013 RX 350 idle 40.9
55 mph 52.8
70 mph 64.4

I never looked at the tires when i was buying different brand. My Lexus came with bridgestone escopia. It took me some time to realize how HORRID they are. I took them off after about 4000 miles driving and put Michelins. It made a difference reducing road noise, but not significant. Hence my comment that it’s not all tire noise.

We just bought a 2022 RX350. I’ve owned a lot of really nice cars and SUVs, and the RX is VERY quiet. It has Michelins. My dealer told me they had upgraded it to be quieter, and I believe it. I’m not sure if he meant 2021 or 2022. But I have driven my sisters 2018 a fair amount and it was very quiet as well.

That exact text appears on the 2021 MY page (pressroom.lexus.com/whats-new-2021-lexus-rx-350-and-450h/). That page also says "The RX continues to provide improved responsiveness compared to models prior to 2020 with a stiffer suspension designed to reduce the noise and vibration from the road." It seems clear that both the 2021 and 2022 pressroom pages reference the noise improvements made in 2020.
I haven't seen anything that indicates the 2021 or 2022 have any additional acoustical improvements. Perhaps the commentor's salesperson has some knowledge that he can reference to be shared with us.

Road Noise is definitely a thing if you have the OEM Bridgestone tires. Especially the lower profile 20s. I had always felt my RXh (Bridgestone) didn't seem as smooth and comfortable on the highway as my older RX350 (with the Michelins).
Finally swapped the Bridgestones on the hybrid with a new set of Michelins, and the difference is amazing. Guess these old ears had tuned out the sound of the Bridgestones, but it was still tiring after even a short trip.

I found this article. Better than asking my sales person. This is for 2021.
