Default Scratches and other marks inside Rim

Scratches and other marks inside Rim

Just noticed these marks on all 4 rims. What could have caused this? The outside facing rim is pristine. I have not hit a single pothole yet. Thanks!

It's quite possibly this was damaged during the installation of the tire.

I paid for the tire and wheels protection when buying the car. I am wondering if I should even bother going to the dealer for this though. This scratches and marks should not cause any issues from a driving standpoint though right? Thanks!

I would ask the dealer or a tire shop for a look at a tire mounting machine. I think I would see no "tool mark" protection for the inside of the rim. Also I would look at the inside of other rims, if possible, for similar marks. If so, I think it's par for the course, so to speak. Ray A.

If you paid for the wheel and tire protection then I would take it to get it fixed lol.. Im at the point where I dont care anymore about a couple nicks, discount tire recently kinda scuffed up two of my f sport wheels but eh. But if you did pay for the wheel protection then might as well use it, I think its around 100 dollars to refurbish a wheel "without the protection plan".

Yeah, I will probably mention it during my 5k check.
