Is this a normal sound while driving?
TODAY, I just picked up my 2022 RX 350 and while I was driving it, I noticed that when I am in stop and go traffic, there is a loud engine/car noise and eventually it goes away. I have narrowed it down when I am accelerating/putting my foot on the gas at certain speeds, the engine noise gets louder and then stops once I get to a cruising speed around 30mph or so. I had gone on a test drive a few weeks ago and do not recall if I heard this before. I came from a BMW as of this morning when I traded it in so this could be me comparing which I should not do...How does your RX 350 sound when you are driving stop and go traffic??

You might try to Google Lexus Drone Noise
It was worse in the past.

2017 RX 350 here. No noise when accelerating. No noise when decelerating. No noise. Take it back and tell them to fix it. If they tell you it is normal to make that noise, then ask them if it would be abnormal if it didn't make that noise. A car that new you should tell them you want your money back and no questions asked.

My 2020 makes no strange noises.
They will fix it since it is under warranty. Would need to be catastrophic for a replacement of the vehicle.
Let the dealer figure out the problem. Even a Lexus will have an occasional problem but let them make it right.

Hope the dealer treats you well unfortunately their #1 tactic is to say, they all sound like that, they all do that, perfectly normal.

I went out today and recorded as best as I could the "humming sound" The humming sound starts at 22 seconds(almost like a lawnmower on the audio clip and the loud high pitch is just wind noise) and you hear it get louder when I press on the gas. It is not a constant humming but comes and goes when I press only on the gas pedal. Again, I do not recall hearing it when I did the test drive on another 2022 RX but this one just came in from the factory and was "test driven"before I picked up the car yesterday with 13 miles on it. Again I am used to a quieter engine BMW when you drive so it could be just that it is more of an SUV vs a SAV sound, if that makes sense. You tell me what you think... I believe it starts at 22 seconds.. Both attachments are the same.. I was unable to open up one so I saved the same file.

The real source of the resonating exhaust is the engine which is lugging under load (when you start to open the throttle at low rpm) -- that hasn't changed for the 2GR FKS. It is a design feature of this engine. The attempts to dampen the resonating exhaust pipe with weights are kind of a band-aid approach. The only real fix would be a design change to the engine to raise the rpm range for the shift points, and to burn more gas in the process.

I have the F-Sport, which adds a plastic resonator on the air intake to make the noise even more noticeable. I don't mind it -- but I'm about half deaf. LOL
