Lost Master Key Fob, still have card key. ideas?
hey everyone!
So i have misplaced my key fob with buttons the other day, but i still have my card key available to use and unlock the car.
Is there a way to remove just that single lost key via techstream when the only other key i have is the card key?
From what i've come across the forum, you can reset the entire bank of keys, but you will need one key available that still works, If this is correct and i will need a master key, is my Card Key considered a master key?
What would you guys recommend i do moving forward? I feel uncomfortable having a working key out in the wild, that i could have possibly lost by my apartment.
I have a AUTEL MS906bt available to me, aswell as a Snap-on Zeus. I don't believe the version of TIS that i have available to me supports my 2018 RX350.
I'm looking to order a new fob, and program it, but like i said previously, i really want to get rid of the lost fob from my cars ECU.

You only have the shank that connects to the key fob correct? And you have no way to start the car? If so do you have the key code tag that came with the key fobs if you bought it new?

Card key? I had that with my 2008 LS460. But none with my 2016 RX, 2017 RX or current 2020 RX. HUH?

hey sorry everybody for the late reply, so i purchased the fob from lexus, and i used my autel MS906BT to clear my previous keys, and add the new key aswell as use the card key as the master to reset. it was $190 for the fob from Lexus seattle, and i was able to avoid the $220 programming and deletion labor cost. they said about a hour, but luckily i brought my autel scanner with me to the dealership and did it in the parking lot incase i screwed something up, i wouldnt have to tow the car to the dealership haha
@daryll40 there is a thread somewhere here on clublexus that lead me to adding the card key to my RX350, but it did not originally come with it.
@jimbosr1 i had the shank of the fob, aswell as a spare smart card key. i was able to start the car with the smart card, but i was mainly worried about having a extra key laying aorund in the wild. but the problem was solved, i removed the previous keys attached to my car, and added the new key. thanks for the reply!
