2017 RX 350 AC Vent Not Working - Recalled?
I have a 2017 RX 350, which is out of warranty. The left front AC vent stopped blowing air. It isn't that the vent is closed. The rest of the vents blow cold air perfectly.
The Lexus dealership told me that this is a common problem for other model Lexus. Lexus is covering such a repair, even outside the warranty. But the dealership then said that such coverage is not available for the RX model. He wants to charge $1000 to replace the AC sensors.
Has anyone else heard of such a problem and whether Lexus is covering this repair, even outside the warranty?

You posted in the wrong forum, 2017 is a 4th Gen. I would call Lexus corporate to see what they tell you. I haven’t heard of that issue before. I know on older Lexus I’ve read about one vent blowing cold and one hot but never completely failing to blow at all. Did it just stop working out of the blue? I know on your generation there’s a occupancy sensor that senses if the passengers seat is empty and it shuts off the vents on that side to save gas but there shouldn’t be anything to turn off the drivers left side vent.

If Lexus Corporate is unwilling to provide financial assistance with your out-of-warranty issue, you will be much better off taking your vehicle to an independent shop specializing in HVAC repairs. It is worth a phone call to Lexus Corporate first, though.

My Lexus ISF had the same issue with the control Valves. Mine was only blowing cold air out the rear center console vent. The rest all blew warm air. Took 3 trips to the dealer to get fixed. The last visit they removed the dash. And replaced all of the control valves. They had the car almost 3 weeks. The cost was almost 8,000 dollars. But I had the extended warranty.
Talk to your Lexus Dealer. See if they will try for an out of warranty repair. If they say no. Go to another dealership and try. If they say no. File a complaint with Lexus Corporate.
