AC intermittent problem
#16
I'm having the same problem with (new to me) 2019 RX 350. Around town, fine. Twice now on long distance drives on hot day (California), after 1-2 hours, cabin temp starts to warm up, and air flow declines, even with fan on high. It will stay warm like that for hours, unless I stop for 10-20 minutes. When I start up again, AC works fine for a while, but problem returns within 30-60 minutes. My first assumption was clogged cabin air filter, but it has been replaced and did not appear to be an issue. Now I'm assuming the coil is freezing over (temp set at 72), and that is blocking air flow. When I stop, the ice is at least partially melting (I assume), and when I start up the AC works until it freezes up again. I'm taking it in for a service call soon on the issue, but based on the above comments, I'm not holding my breath. Hopefully someone will learn of a fix.

My last trip was 4 hours non-stop on highway, temps in mid-90s with high humidity, temp set higher than usual at 72. Fully expected a lockdown but didn't occur. In addition to intermittent using outside air setting, Lexus also suggested turning off S-flow to permit more air coming in. Good luck with yours. Let us know if you get a different answer. Dealer here says has been a frequent occurrence they've seen without a fix.

I have a 2022 RX 450h L and this happened to me once. I tripled checked all my settings and everything was correct, my solution was to reboot the system and the problem never came back (so far).
