Question Will I lose all presets if I change battery?

My 2018 RX battery is 4.5 years old and I want to replace it with a new battery before winter arrives. Will I lose all the presets when I remove the old battery and replace it with a new battery? If so, how do I prevent that? Any other potential issues I may have when I replace the battery? How does the dealer replace the battery without losing the presets? Thanks.

Viktor did this video and makes the point that you should not loose any memory settings, even if you do not connect it to a charger.

I think being ready to put the new battery in relatively quickly might help.

Just get one of those portable jump starters (they're useful to have anyway) and hook it up to the postive and negative leads before disconnecting the battery.

Some mechanics have a couple of lightweight wires with alligator clips at each end,
Simple to attach to the new battery to keep the current flowing when removing the clamps from the old battery.
Besides the presets you can also lose the seat/wheel/mirror memory if the power is off long enough.

I didn’t lose any settings when I changed the battery in my ‘16 RX just a few weeks ago. Only had to reset the clocks since I don’t have Nav.

It kept your radio settings?

I’m pretty certain it did. I only listen to one local station that I do have preset. Otherwise, we stream or use a loaded up usb drive. I still been a few weeks, but I know that the seat memory and stereo sound settings were all good. The only thing I recall we did have to fix was the usb shuffle setting had changed to random within the current folder only.
