Need RX350 advice!!
My 2010 RX350 has 155000 miles on it. It still drives great, has clean oil at change time, Heve replaced all running parts tires, brakes, bearings front axles&Cv joints,a bent wheel, Struts and shocks 2X . However the AC compressor, water pump, alternator and possibly the belt are original. I want to get a newer RX350 but the 2016 s -2020 seem costly and have problems like a transmission that hunts and noise droning. plus I dont know about Sport model or AWD????? Im a older gent (85) and want a quiet ride yet good handling. Need advice please. Thanks from GeoPS I am also considering a Used Highlander XLE or Limited 2WD

We still have our 17 75K miles and counting. Quiet road cruiser, minor drone but nothing really to get excited about.

I went from a 2008 Rx to a 2020 Rx and felt that it was at the very least just as good and probably a small upgrade. Both vehicles have been great and very reliable. I wouldn't worry for one second about buying a newer Rx.

The drone and the hesitating/hunting transmission were not big enough problems to make the 4th gen. one to avoid. Annoyances if you're really obsessed with ride perfection (which I tend to be haha), unnoticeable otherwise.
It had a very zen and comfy interior, very quiet, and I loved how old fashioned every control and instrument was. All physical, all analog.
"Smooth" would be the one word to describe the overall experience with the 4th gen RX. And bulletproof reliability.

warranty on hybrid battery
I recommend you get a late model (before 2023) Lexus RX450h (Non-sport) hybrid. I just traded in my 2020 model RX 450h F sport with panoramic roof for a 2022 RX 450h (non f-sport) and no panoramic glass roof. The transmission is eCvt and essentially has no gears to shift. It's great and very smooth driving. 2022 model year is the last of the V-6 cyl engines. I get 30 MPG around town where I do most of my driving. The 450h is easy on the brakes (little wear) due to the hybrid braking. The Hybrid battery on 2020 and later "H" models warranted for 10 years and 150,000 miles. The hybrid RX is about $1500 more when new over a 4 wheel drive regular RX. Not sure on 2022 hybrid battery warranty?

My 2020 has 40K miles on it. I've been very satisfied with it. Since you mentioned the 'sport' model, I assume you mean the F Sport. If you are looking at one, be sure to drive it and assess the comfort. The F Sport has heavily bolstered seats. Some like them, some don't.

Purchased a '22 RX350 in this past April, traded in a '18 ES350. Primary reason to change was the difference in ride height between the 2. Wife and I both have bad backs, hips, etc. with our age being 67-70 y/o. The RX is much easier to enter and exit than the ES which sits quite a bit lower IMO. Both vehicles were/are comparable in terms of ride, etc. etc. etc.
Look online for lease vehicles being returned, and some dealers will put your name on a waiting list for one of their loaner vehicles when they become available. From what i was told, the dealer has to keep the loaner vehicles for one year, then they can sell them.

My 2020 just rolled over 50,000 and has had zero problems. I personally waited for the 2020 to get touchscreen and CarPlay, so that may influence decision if those items are important to you.
Good luck with what you decide. 155,000 miles still has plenty of left.

If you are an older gent, then forget the F-Sport model. The F-Sport model is a marketing gimmick used by Lexus to tap into the younger aged market. A complete waste of money. Do not buy an older used hybrid. Any other RX 350 will be just fine. I have a 2017 RX 350 base AWD and it is the best car ever. Just put new Michelin Crossclimate2 tires on it and am good for at least the next 8 years. Good luck and keep researching.

Hi geoleo. The 2016 to 2021 models (I don't have experience with the hybrid EV models) do have drone issues around the 1500rpm range, some more than others, and to some it's just background noise they can ignore while others go nuts hearing it. If you truly want a quiet car and are not locked into an SUV or hatchback, you may want to look at the ES350 AWD. It is a much smoother, quiter ride and the interior is more modern. I had a 2015 GS350 F-Sport AWD which was superquiet as well, but unfortunately, they stopped production of the GS350 alltogether. In order of quitest rides I would rank ES350 > GS350 > RX350, and this of course is subjective from first-hand experience. Thanks.
