Default Scratch on Rx

Hi guys, new to this forum. Went grocery shopping and usually park far away where no one is, still someone some how managed to scratch my car. i know scratches are bound to happen, but it’s a new car so I want it to look it’s best. I’m new to cars, but I was wondering if you guys know if the scratch can be buffed out. Thank you!

Kind of hard to tell because of the reflections and water marks. If it's new, I'd bring it to a body shop and see what they say.

hard to tell from the picture, but if the paint is broken so to speak, it won't buff out. If you can catch your fingernail on it same answer. Get some fine polishing compound and follow the directions on the container and see what happens. Don't apply much pressure when rubbing with the compound.

if you can feel it with fingernail, the scratch might be too deep to fix..but you can still buff out to look better. From the picture, it does not look too bad.

Thank you for your replies guys, I went to the dealership for maintenance and asked them about the scratches. I washed the car and there are about 2 more scratches (3 in total). They said they can buff out about 99% of the scratches. They said they can do it for $190. I've never buffed out scratches before but is that a fair amount?

Seems very high, ask a local body shop what they would charge and if they can do it while you wait. It seems like a quick job that may cost you just a few dollars.

Never take your car to a dealership for detail unless it's quick hand wash job. They are there to sell cars, not to clean cars. Try search local professional car detailers. They have all the knowledge to use cleaning products to clean cars and fix scratches like this. You will be suprised what they can do to a car paint. If they can't fix it, then it needs to be taken to a bodyshop for spot repaint.
