Default My Navigation trial is ending soon.

I'm approaching 36 months on my 2020 RX350 and I'm going to lose my Dynamic Navigation, Enform Remote, Destination Assist and Safety Connect. If I don't subscribe to the Dynamic Nav do I lose all my navigation? If not, what do I lose? I use my NAV often and rarely use my Remote and never used my Destination Asst or Safety Connect. What are your thoughts?

Regular Nav will continue to work and you will be able to purchase map updates (just like you have to do now if you want/need newer maps).

In my experience, dynamic nav does very little, especially since it is so slow to respond to changing conditions.

Of course the best, easiest, and free Nav will continue to be your smart phone. Period.

One of the reasons that I did not even want Navigation is Apple CarPlay.

I prefer Google Maps for the traffic and the way that it is displayed (Waze is OK but like the GM view better).
Google takes care of the updates of the maps, and Apple handles the updates for the iPhone. Just easier.

My 2020 loses the other free services next week, and there is no way that I am doing a subscription. I hate that model (for the consumer). Buy the car outright, and then continue to pay anyway.

My wife uses an iPhone and Apple Maps she has a 2016 ES 350. I use an Android phone and Google Maps in my 2016 Ex350. We have Navigation in both cars and never use it. I've tried Waze but it's too much information. Google Maps is OK but I'm thinking Apple Maps is a bit better...almost enough to switch me from Android.

Countless threads on CL have complained about the native Navigation systems
provided by all auto makers. The reason our phones acted better is because they
are reaching out to the cloud for voice recognition and map data. Try using Siri when
you are out of cell phone range...dumb as a rock, right? Lexus brought out Dynamic
Navigation in 2018 (varies by model line) and this provided the cloud based responses
we enjoy when using Apple/Google/Waze apps. We pay for our phone service data
plans, if you just had a phone without service the various apps would not work.

RXJerry - The Enform App that provides the Remote Start and Vehicle Locator also
has a 36 month trial and is Not required to subscribe to the Dynamic Navigation/Voice.
Not using it? don't renew it. The key fob Remote Start using the three (3) press cadence
will continue to function for 120 months because the Service Connect has a 10 year trial.

There are a couple of actions to take at the end of the Dynamic Nav & Voice 36 month trial.
Lease the car for 36 months? Not using the Nav? Do nothing and the map will appear the same.
Reasonable skill at DIY electronics? (did you pair your own phone...) Go the www.lexus.com
and order the flash drive for $180 and it will be snail mailed to you. Stick it in the USB port and
follow the instructions. You get 24 more months of what you have had, Dynamic voice response as with
our phones, updated Map Data and responsive map prompts. This is the best route for the least money.

Not a DIY capable driver? Make an appointment at your dealer and they will spend your money on the
licensing and install it for you, this will be around $400. If you don't use the voice commands to enter
destination and would rather just type in addresses while parked then you can update the maps without
the Dynamic connections just as we have done in the past. Make the appointment with Service and
clarify that you just want the old fashioned Map update.
