Default All weather floor liners slippery?

Does anyone have the Lexus OEM all weather liners? These are the ones that have a bit of a lip around the edges, not the regular mats that are cheaper. They were bundled with our 2018 and we swapped them in last week. They are very slippery even when dry, our feet just slide around. They are even worse when wet. We had our first snow today and they are just terrible and dangerous, so slippery my feet slide off of the pedals. I am wondering if they will get grippy with use but I have had multiple Weathertechs for years and they never felt like this.

If you have them what are your experiences? I doubt I could go return them to the dealer since they were part of the car sale.

I have them on an '18 for nearly a year now, have not felt that they were slippery, but certainly they don't have the grip of the fabric mat. When new they had a little sheen, long since gone. Any chance the dealership had used something on them at delivery, like Armor-All? Maybe try taking the driver side out and wash with a soap like Dawn that cuts oil.

Leap: If your feet slip off the pedals, that would have nothing to do with the floor liners, unless, as jim256 mentions, the liners have some sort of coating on them that's sticking to your shoes. Try doing as he suggests and see what happens.

We have the tub liners as well with no issues whatsoever. Not a huge fan of the way they look but they certainly keep the carpets spotless.

I have the all weather liners. They really protect the car from mud, snow, and water dragged by your shoes. Mine are not slippery and have a dull finish.

Some detailers might have sprayed some Armor-all on them making them very slippery. Take some dish soap and give them a good clean with hose and a brush. That should remove any coating on them.

I have them on my 2016 RX and glad I do as they are so easy to wash off when they get muddy or dirty vs the carpeting mats. They were part of my initial delivery in 2016. The carpet mats do look much better but the white Lexus logos get dirty very quickly.

I felt the surface yesterday after my post--almost a rubbery feel, certainly not slippery. They are not a hard vinyl, quite flexible when you remove them.

Thanks guys. After using them for a week some of the slipperiness is gone and they are a little more grippy. I'm hoping after another week or two of wear they will be a grippy as WeatherTechs out of the box. The theory that maybe the dealer sprayed something on them could be, or they could just be an oily plastic that has to off-gas for a bit and they didn't sit at the warehouse long enough.

I’ve had them for a year and they are fine, but rather dull finish. They came with car and I do prefer them to carpet. But if I had a choice from day 1, I’d buy Weathertechs like I had on my Camry, those mats were awesome.

I've got the Weather-Tech brand floor liner. Works like a champ!

To bring closure to this, as the winter wore on they got gripper and the slippery out of the box feeling went away. I still prefer Weathertechs as they have better coverage, have a better feeling surface, and are easier to pull out for cleaning. I'll see how these look after the winter is over and I wash them off, if they are not in great shape I'll have no qualms about trashing them and buying Weathertechs next winter. My advice if anyone is considering these is do not buy them, Weathertech is better and cheaper, and if the dealer is trying to bundle them with the sale, tell them to take them off or give you the $250 or whatever they charge for them off of the final price.
