USB ports not working
2017 RX450H. Our USB ports stopped working— won’t charge or connect to the phone at all. Tried both ports, different cables and phones. Haven’t tried the AUX connection but if you click AUX on the screen it just shows a blue screen?! Anybody else have this issue? All I’ve found online is it could be a fuse or bad port. Haven’t found the location of the fuse anywhere. Help?

Apparently denied warranty since they say a drop of water got in there causing the AUX/USB component to corrode. Apparently the 86190-0E100 part alone costs $385 (found as low as $260 online)... with another hundred or so for labor/install. Have any of you guys replaced this before? Should just be plug'n'play? Anybody have a tutorial?

I haven’t had any problems with my RX 350. But on my old ISF the USB ports are mounted flat In the center console. I bought it certified preowned and the previous owner had put things in the center console that allow dirt and junk to get into the USB ports.
What I did to clean them out. Was take use a can of compressed air for cleaning computers. And some electrical contact cleaner with a small brush. And cleaned out the USB ports Without removing them.

When I removed that console to add a USB adapter in the back and reroute a USB cable to the front of the console, the USB connector assembly just pops out. Simple to replace, except for getting acmes to it.
By the way, to corrode, the water must be in there for months. However, short might mess up the connector.
Might try removing the USB assembly, cleaning them with alcohol and blowing any debris off with a can of compressed air. Then plug them back in. In my experience, most of those connectors are very robust, just get a lot of junk in them.

Question about USB port
just discovered that my USB port does not work when plugged in however aux works. tried to remedy this situation by checking the fuse and etc; everything checks out. Thus, wondering do I need to replace the USB port? if so, how do I take it out? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried cleaning out the plug? Over the years I’ve seen dirt collect in them. Where they become intermittent.
A can of compressed air and electrical contact cleaner. With a small brush is what I use.
As far as replacing the plug. I’m guessing is an assembly with two ends. One USB and the other on the back of the radio. Which would call for the whole center console to be taken apart.
I had an issue with my square mouse controller last summer. And looked for more information specific to the 4th Gen RX. But couldn’t find anything.

Are you saying that when you plug in the phone with usb, the audio does not work? But will still charge? If I remember correctly you have to go into audio or music in the menu using the joystick, then source, and select "phone". When I plug in a aux it automatically will play music without me doing anything but not if I plug it through the usb port I manually have to go into the "source" and change the input.
