Lexus Los Angeles parts told me the cost is $315 USD - part only - now I have to call service with the part number to see the cost to install. This camera is also the same one as the NX. I attached a page from what the dealer sent me.

Part Number: PT949-76220

Here is a link I found for more info about it - as well as a link to the manual to see how it works: https://www.lexus.com/drivers/resources/dashcam

So I found this post about the Fit camera as another option, but now have to compare it against the Lexus OEM model: https://fitcamx.com/products/fitcamx...42439792296108

I see it as low as $285. Is there a cable/adapter kit that goes with it?

Seems like this might be the wiring harness?

This will seem like a dumb question, but what is all that contraption that is behind and under the existing digital mirror? From the front it looks like it has lenses in it, facing forward. If it is a camera meant only for all the driver assist options, then why doesn't Lexus just make that available to buyers as a dash cam product?

so this is another review video I found comparing the FitCam dash cam against the previous Lexus dash cam, but it gives you a little better understanding of the Fitcam. Still, you really have to do a comparison against the newer Lexus OEM dash cam to really figure it out - However, initially, it seems that the FitCam may be a better product with the 4k option, as well as the parking monitor - which I don't know if the new Lexus OEM dash cam has.... The FitCam does seem to have a very decent OEM look compared to other dash cams on the market.
Lastly, the FitCam website lists that it fits the 23 RX but does not list the 350 or 350h, or the 500 - I sent a message to the company in China to see what they have to say. My initial guess is the 350 and 350h are the same, but let see what they say and if they modify their website to add the different RX versions. It appears they sell the 2023 RX 350, 350h, and 500 versions on their Amazon page which I listed on the next post.

Here's the Amazon page for the 2022 Lexus version, where you can also read some of the customer reviews:
Amazon Amazon

Here's the Amazon page for the 2023 Lexus RX 350 and 350h version, which comes with front and back cameras, but it does not have any reviews, so I guess you kinda have to look at the 2022 page above to get an idea of customer comments, but I don't know how much of a difference there is between their 2022 and 2023 models.

Too much disassembly for that third party one, not to my liking. I would have to see the install procedure for the Lexus one to compare.

@lexusnyca - I thought the same thing originally, but I saw a few more install videos of the product and read several reviews. and after watching those - it did not seem too difficult - however, if I were to consider this unit, I think I would still go to an independent installer, especially if I decided to add the rear monitor.

I called my Lexus dealer today and said they had not done one of these yet and they are waiting to hear back from the Lexus mechanic to get a time estimate for the installation. He said the mechanic originally said maybe 4 to 6 hours of installation time, as the headliner has to be removed. I don't think that's true, as my thought is that the work would match what we saw in the Fixcam video - so we shall see what they come back with. I really wish the Lexus version was 4k and had a parking movement recording feature - but that's life.

Definitely no headliner removal. The real thing I fear is messing around with a third party product in that mirror area - a lot of features in that pod for frontal camera, the digital rearview mirror, etc. If you ever have a warranty problem with anything centered in that pod, once they see that third party wiring harness cut in there, you can forget about warranty coverage.

Yes, I agree @lexusnyca ...the only thing working in its favor is no wire is cut in that mirror power unit - they provide a Y pig tail that is plugged into an existing plug for power, so no physical alteration is made to the car.

Not that I've made a decision yet but if a problem with the mirror or calibration unit occurred, you could swap simply swap the covers back out and plug the Y pigtail....

Still researching.. But I think the biggest issue would be how much the total charge would be from Lexus INCLUDING labor... Which they are suppose to get back to me...

What's interesting about the Lexus OEM unit is that it also fits other modules like the NX but I have not read any post on the Lexus club website of anyone having it installed as a dealer install option.... Hmmmmm

You mean using a fuse tap for power? I'm not understanding.

@hadj ..watch the above fitcam video... On their option that comes with both a front and rear camera cams, while the front dash cam gets power from a y-pig tail plug, the rear camera needs power and the video shows how they tap into the fuse block

Got RX350 2023 tap:
Back side of connector (it is on the right - close to passenger seat):
PIN1 (Blue cable)
PIN4 (BW cable)
Use "Vantrue N2 Pro" - it only survive in Florida heat.

Can you please provide more details about the integrated dash cam? I am assuming this is the factory one made for the RX. What is the cost including parts and labor would one be expecting. Thanks for this information.

This one? What did it cost at the dealer with installation?
