Default Are Triple Beam Headlights worth the upgrade?

Hello, for those who had Lexus with and without the upgraded triple beam headlights, are they worth the upgrade? Based on what’s being allocated today, the dealers are only getting the upgraded headlights on the luxury trim. I was hoping to get the premium plus trim on the 350h

yes and no. I dont think you can order specific with or without the upgraded headlights. Technically yes via website but Lexus just build the RX accordingly. For example our 500h didnt have a choice to come or without those headlights it just came with it, you take it or leave it kinda thing or worse you wait till a long time for that particular model to show up. I wished the upgraded lights had more features like adaptive (theres a post somewhere of what those are) and the headlights would move when you steer the car left or right.

I have the triple beam headlights and they light up the entire width of the roadway ahead. The automatic hi beam shut off feature works quickly and smartly so I leave them on all the time. I've never been flashed. I do not have experience with the standard lighting, so I can't compare that for you.

quite often. We have Subaru ascent with led headlight and they’re good but could be brighter.

I, too, am impressed at how well the auto hi beam feature works. But to be fair, it works well in our Subaru Crosstrek too.

You have auto hi beams with or without triple beams.

I have had triple beam lights on previous Lexus vehicles. Definitely worth it in my opinion. That being said, the standard lights are also fine but they just don’t light up the side of the road as well. I even received comments from passengers when driving at night, noting how well the triple beam lighting worked.

I would have liked the cornering lamps, but I think the add on price is high. I also wonder if it will be expensive to replace vs. the standard Bi-LED Headlamps. As I have said before, it looks like they gave the reviewers all Luxury models, making many of us think some of those parts were standard, but they are not.

PREMIUM TRIPLE-BEAM LED HEADLAMPS, HEADLAMP WASHERS AND CORNERING LAMPS $1,565

True. I mentioned that the triple beams shut off quickly because that's important with such a powerful high beam. My previous car's automatic high beams were a little slow shutting off, so I was reluctant to use them.

Triple beams used first time this morning. Excellent light and lots of it. The high beams are awesome with a very wide pattern for those in deer country. Living is Florida, our deer are no larger that a large dog and every bit of light helps. 😜

To triple beam owners, what performance characteristics make you prefer them to the bilevel LED lights? I dug into the IIHS test numbers, and a couple of things popped out to me;
  1. Both versions of the 2023 lights post better numbers than the 23022 versions.
  2. In both 2022 and 2023 testing, it could be argued that the bilevels post slightly better numbers than the triple beam.
I realize the numbers don't tell the whole story, so why are the triple beams better? I'm talking about headlamp performance, not cornering lamps or all-LED lighting.
