winter or otherwise
quick search of a few local tire places gives me ZERO options for tires, winter or otherwise, and that's the 19" version I'm looking for. Not sure what these guys are up to, but we'll need some winter tires in a few months, gotta get those Finns and Koreans back to work!

Not sure about the 19 but when I researched for the 21 I found nobody stocked the tire and discount tire did not even list a tire for the car. Firestone said they could get one in 5 days but did notice tire rack did have them for order. Down the road I am sure there will be wide availability but if you had a road hazard today needing a tire it could be a problem.

Found my tires. Both Discount tire and Lexus says they will fit just fine!

I am positive they will. Discount Tire backs the fit and function and the sales person says if they do not work, they will refund the money. He even contacted Lexus who agreed they would work. They are virtually the same diameter and about 1 inch wider.

The wider width i what I was asking about earlier but never got an answer other than a link to some 235's. Interested if this works.

If what I see is a 265 tire on an 8 inch rim used for winter driving, that's an accident waiting to happen.
Years ago I put on three size up from stock and the car wandered all over the road. Pumped up the pressure and it was only slightly better. It was dangerous.
I hope you folks keep looking rather than going up three sizes. The other option would be a 19" tire and wheel combo. It would come out very similar price and much more selection in 19"
Way too early to panic, winter is still a ways away. New tires that fit will be out before the snow fly's.
Cheers!!

I am surprised that discount tire will install a tire of different size when the car is not even in there system because of liability reasons. Probably will work ok but the industry needs to get busy and make tires for this car in all brands and types. Reminds me a little of Toyota holding back on EV so far great guns is because the infrastructure is not there to handle.

I was referring to your plan to use all seasons until they wear out. All seasons may or may not be accepted in BC passes depending on their designation. The Michelin Cross Climate and CC2 are all-weather and will be what I swap out to as soon as the car is delivered. Sadly, I will likely only get 25-50 bucks a tire for the OEM ones.
