Yellow Arrows - HUD
While I did a search of this forum and tried to find an answer in one of the several printed manuals I cannot find anywhere what the series of right or left yellow arrows that have appeared on the HUD indicate? The few times I saw them appear on the HUD I was stopped at a traffic light and in one case for sure, I was stopped but indicating a turn. By the time I noticed these >>>>>>> yellow arrows, I could not verify a message on the dash. Oncoming traffic in the direction of my turn?? Please help solve this mystery for me. Thanks in advance!

That would be your front cross traffic alert system. It lets you know when cars are coming from the sides at intersections. It’s useful if you’re at an intersection but can’t see if cars are coming from the left or right. And you can’t get out quite that far because otherwise your car would be in the main road.
It uses added radar sensors in the front. Have you ever been reversing and you hear beeps and see yellow arrows on your screen warning of cars coming? This is the same system, just in the front.

Yes, it can easily be enabled or disabled by using the infotainment screen.
I don’t have it on my NX but I test drove ones with it. Where I live there’s not a lot of blind intersections where you have to pull out a lot into the road to see traffic, so the FCTA was just annoying. But I can easily see scenarios where it would be helpful. Definitely wouldn’t be a must have for me.
