The "free second service at 10,000 miles" does include an oil change, which I would imagine everyone would do, even if they changed oil at 1,000 miles. So to summarize, even if you change oil at 1,000 miles (I do not), that would not be a reason to skip or change the "free" 5,000mi and 10,000 mi services.
Interesting. Generally speaking, I never rotate tires. Assuming the car is dialed in at delivery as far as its alignment and how it tracks and steers, I don't take a chance to mess that up by rotating the wheels. Rotating just backs to fronts, I really don't think you balance the tread wear patterns much anyway.

Tires don’t last long in Pittsburgh. To get any benefit from any pro-rata warranty, you have to show that the tires have been rotated. But I do wonder what the optimal rotation is, if any. I wonder if anyone has ever done a study of this. Perhaps it’s a practice from a bygone era that needs revised. Perhaps it’s in the tire maker and seller’s interest to promote this, but isn’t really necessary.

Camber and toe are always different front to back in a properly aligned suspension. Depending how different the are effects how effective rotating the tires is.

Does changing out break in oil makes a different with having to "warm up" the engine? For example how long after you put in drive after you turn on the car?!

What you are really asking is if “doing more” might actually be “doing less”. I vote to stick to the manufacturer’s requirements.

‘On my 350h waiting before putting into drive obsolete. My battery pretty well takes me out of the garage, down the long driveway and out on the road before the motor starts. In the winter it will start quickly as cabin heat only comes from the motor.

Modern cars not need a warm up. You can drive away as soon as you turn the key. Just go easy until the car gets up to operating temp. For the oil, change it at 1k, then every 5k or 6 months per the car car nut.

You can believe who you want. I have read and views tuns of info and view many videos and he seems to make to most sense and also seems very honest. I change my own oil now that I'm retired and have plenty of time. It costs me around $35.00 for 5 qts on Mobil 1 and a EOM filter. Since I plan to keep the car for a while I would rather lean on the side on caution. Oil is cheep, new or rebuilt engines are not.

He is a marketing guru. If one researches synthetic oil mileage intervals the consensus is 7,500 to 10,000 miles. BMW does 15,000 mile changes. Always have done 10,000 miles with Mobil 1 a million miles driven and of course no engine problems.

Yea, I know exactly who he is. He always tries to come up w or say something that is different. So like in this case people will remember him. You said it best-- Marketing guru... n all about himself imo.
Plus i was just being light hearted w prev poster. We all have different ideas or intervals when it comes to vehicle maintenance.

On the same note , I have a ES350 FSPORT that I didn't change the oil till vehicle was like 17 mos old. I only put put btw 4-4500k mi ea year n my service advisor had told me as long as I didn't go past 18 mos, he could honor the free oil change through Lexus Corp. Said it wasn't an issue waiting that long. He even made sure tech gave him inspection of its condition when it was finally changed at 17 mos n reported all looked normal.
Again lots of ways to go abt it, definitely not one size fits all.
Good luck to everyone with their New RX350 2023 or soon to be purchase hopefully for some. Ours is Great so far.

Well said. We do all have different routines and I will always revert back to the manufacturer of my vehicle and the manufacturer of my oil.

I think that hybrids especially may require less frequent oil changes, because the gasoline engine is off so much of the time.
