I’ve had turbo 4s in my house for 24 years and always did 5K changes on them. Always, always use synthetic with turbo engines.

Dark?

At 5k my oil is so clear I have to hold the dipstick just right to see the oil level on it. Even on a white paper towel it is as clear as water.

I have a 350h. (A regular 2.5 liter non-turbo hybrid engine). I only have 750 miles on it and the oil on the dip stick looks very clear. I happened to visit a Lexus dealer in Newport Beach, CA, a few days ago and asked the service director about break-in period and if I need to change the oil at 1000 mile. He said, not needed and just come at 5000 for checkup and 10,000 for service & oil change. I am sure living in various environments like heat, dust, moisture, affects the oil in the engine in different ways.

The owner's manual is pretty clear about how often the oil needs to be changed (synthetic oil) yet a lot of dealers and gas stations still put that sticker up on your window telling you need to change the oil in 3,000 miles. Old habits die hard.
10,000 mile intervals has worked well for me for years...

I will look at it on next change. My mistake, I was looking at it in the collection bucket. I'm sure it would have been clear and lighter on a white paper towel.

I've been known to just pull out the stick and see how the oil looks there....

I check my oil every two weeks. With over 5K, the oil level has not dropped from the full mark on the stick. That is reassuring that my 350h is not burning any oil.

Where in Canada is that?

in Ontario the first oil change is at 16,000 KM and it is not included. There are 2 services that are free, 1600km and 8000km which are for customization and ONLY inspecting the car for anything that is not right from factory basically. No maintenance items are basically performed for free.

might have misspoken about the 1500km service (i will be requesting an oil change ofcourse ) but the 8k service is supposed to be Service 1 although its not very clear whether a change of oil is done. cheap insurance IMHO. Car care nut youtube channel also recommends this schedule.

Yes, but not included. You have to pay. Service 1 does not include oil change either.
