So I am still uncertain.

I doubt anything changed parts wise from 2023 to 2024.

Agree. From my poking around I don’t have a great sense about 2023 parts inventory being fully accurate either. Seems like there are endless threads here with people trying to find simple things like winter mat part numbers.

Looks like my original thread was deleted and my question merged into this obsolete thread as post #13. I say obsolete because there is no longer a "$160.00 Tow Package" in 2024. It is now an "$870.00 Kick sensor with Tow Package". That's the reason I started a new thread. Too bad, because now we are not likely to get a verifiable answer to the question of what the $870.00 3500lb tow package actually includes because the title of this thread is obsolete and will not attract the appropriate attention. Please restore my original thread.

From what I have read, there seems to be some confusion as the 2022 and prior years had an optional Tow Prep Package for $160 which included some coolers and wiring. For 2023/24 it appears that you only need the tow hitch package which includes the kick sensor if ordered from factory.
My car came with the factory hitch/kick sensor. There is no mention of any other towing related packages on the sticker.
It could be that Lexus determined the previous Tow Prep Package was not needed for the 2023/24 redesign.
Several folks have posted simply installing an aftermarket hitch was relatively easy and the pre-wiring for the lights is standard on all vehicles.
I think some dealers/sales folks are simply not up to speed with the new model and tow hitch requirements.
Incidentally, I don’t see the tow prep package as an option in the Lexus site. Maybe it was there before by mistake and was taken down.

I tow with my other vehicles and would like to at some point with my Lexus (around 1,000#'s). Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this eventually.
But quite frankly, I find it hard to believe that towing this amount of weight would cause any harm to the powertrain with the existing engine and transmission coolers.

You just need a hitch and a wiring harness. Aftermarket or the Lexus tow hitch package.

The dealer spent a lot of time figuring this out. I believe I am correct in that the 160 dollar items is the "converter" cable. This is required to activate the brake lights. it is not the cable that has the 4 pin connector. That is another cable. Look at page 18 of the link to see part numbers. If you want a non Lexus hitch you could get by with the 160 dollar cable and everything else could be non Lexus. There are some people who posted that the factory kick sensor still worked but I had the dealer install the shorter cable and sensor
