Maybe someone who already has a 23 RX350 and uses regular can chime in and advise if they have had any issues.

I don't think you can get a unanimous answer on this. It's like asking if extended warranty should be purchased.....

The manufacturer states that RX350 gas and RX 500h as well as NX350 gas must have premium fuel. If a customer deviates from that mandate, it is their choice...

Big question in my mind is your warranty would be voided by using regular vs. premium gas.

Why does Lexus require if it is the same engine.
The Hybrids are the same, the non-Hybrid is different. The regular RX350 is a Turbo 2.4L 4 Cylinder. The RX350H is a non-Turbo 2.5L 4 Cylinder with Hybrid System. The RX500H is a Turbo 2.4L 4 Cylinder with Hybrid System.

Interestingly, maybe, is that the 350H hybrid drivetrain is the same as the Toyota Sienna, Toyota Highlander, etc. None of these require or even mention Premium in their owner's manual. I know the compression ratio of the Sienna Engine and the RX350H is identical and this is usually the "reason" for an engine to require a particular grade of fuel.

@ggebhardt
'"Use of unleaded gasoline with an octane rating lower than what is listed for your model year vehicle could potentially result in engine knocking. If the octane rating used is less than required, damage to the engine may occur and which could void the vehicle warranty. " [Lexus' emphasis, not mine]

https://support.lexus.com/s/article/...cle%20warranty.

I rest my case. Warranties can be voided for a lot of things. Non-OEM parts, components damaged as a result of accidents, etc.

“I rest my case”. LOL!

I guess that is why the dealer filled your gas tank with regular unleaded at delivery.

Proof? Or wild speculation? Regardless, *I* do not want to be on the wrong side of warranty if Lexus decides to stick with the T&Cs you get when you get a new car. YMMV

Unfortunately all new 2023 RXs hybrids and non-hybrids have switched to premium gas requirement or recommendation according to our local Lexus salesman and service advisor whereas the previous 4th generation RXs use regular except for the hybrids. My neighbor has a 2023 RX350h and he says premium is required and my cousin in San Francisco has a 2023 RX350 (non-hybrid) and it uses premium. Both my neighbor and cousin didn't know about premium fuel requirement until they bought the vehicle. My suggestion is to use a mid grade 89-90 octane gas as a compromise to the premium grade of 91-94 octane. You can always try out the regular grade (87 octane) for the first couple of tanks to see whether it deteriorates the performance.

That would be me. There have been no issues and my 23 350h has never seen premium gas and never will.

I know for a fact that at least one Lexus dealer uses Regular fuel on all new and used car deliveries. Fact, I have filled up many of them with reg as it was the only fuel available on the lot.

Don't take a chance, If you have the turbo model use premium. It's not worth harming the engine to save a few bucks. Only the 350h can you use regular.

I always fill up at 1/4 tank. If I have a 1/4 tank of premium, I top off with 3/4 regular. At next fill-up, I will top off with Premium and continue switching that way. It is hard to find mid-grade around here.
