Default Turn off all sensors / cameras for car wash?

I've had my RX350h for a couple of months. Loving it so far.
When I go through the car wash, all the proximity alerts activate with the car's front and side cameras picking up the carwash machines. Is there a way to briefly turn off all those sensors / cameras on the car?

thank you!

Yep. Me too. All of my cars recently have done this. My 2022 Toyota Highlander seemed to be able to tell I was going through a car wash and would flash a message asking if I wanted to temporarily silence alerts. I never silenced them because it was such a short lived event. I haven’t seen the option to silence the alerts on the Lexus, but they really don’t bother me.

‘When I had a vehicle that did give me this option, I would always forget to turn it back on. Sometimes these safety systems can be a bit bothersome but overall it makes me a safer driver. I used to use my blinker occasionally when changing lanes, now my Lexus has taught me to use the blinker every time or lane keeping grabs the steering wheel to help!

You can just acknowledge the noisemakers and with the return button on the left hand side of the steering wheel. They'll stop making noise temporarily.

I disable the intuitive park assist, parking support brake and auto wiper feature. Also I go to a NO TOUCH car wash. Don't use those other type or that dirty tarp will scratch your gloss finish on your car.

You mentioned above just to acknowledge by selecting the return button on the left side menu stealing wheel button.. I pushed all the buttons and it did not stop... Exactly which button did u hit?

On the flip side, I found a work around if you have the 360 camera... If you hit the small 360 button on the dash just below the info screen.. Your camera shows on the screen full view... You will see a speaker icon on the top right corner and if you touch it when the sensors are going off.. they turn off.

Default How do you turn off proximity sensors when driving thru car wash ?

Is there a way to turn off the proximity (parking) sensors when driving thru a carwash. I know that i can turn the volume off to eliminate the beeps, but do we have a "car wash" mode ?

Thanks

No. I turn all off, IMO, they're mostly unnecessary, it's for drivers who have poor spatial awareness or just not really good at driving a vehicle, but they have to drive because it's necessary.

The following are the most useful, IMO:
- the adaptive cruise control and lane trace assist, with the option of manual cruise control,
- 360º aerial camera view (especially in parking).

Everything else is just unwanted noise, even the FCTA

I wish they would have ONE button that would put the car in "Car Wash" mode. It would silence sensors, turn off auto wipers and do anything else that needs to be done. When you leave the car wash and speed exceeds 15mph, systems could return to normal or alert you to press that button again to reactivate. It isn't rocket science.

There is a silence "button" on the right of the screen when the camera display comes up as the sensors freak out. I just hit that to shut it up while in the car wash.

This is all you have to do.

Oh, and make sure all your windows are closed. 😜
