I didn't have the hesitation issue all winter and spring and now it's back. Is seems to be related to the heat, any time its over 95 and worse when it gets up to 100. Car works good on cooler days and mornings. Has anyone had luck with a dealer repair?

What is the simple update?

Has anyone tried adding a bottle of fuel system cleaner, such as BG44K or Chevron Techron? It is an easy, low-cost measure that is worth trying. Carbon build-up can cause hesitation.

Per the owner's manual, Premium fuel is REQUIRED in the 2.4 Turbo RX350! Ignore that and you will have bigger problems to deal with than hesitation.

I’m having the hesitation issue as well and as others have said, it seems to be related to the heat. It’s now regularly 100 degrees here and that’s when it got really hesitant. I especially notice it on office days when my car is sitting out in the heat for hours. I notice it less when it’s in my garage though if I’m out long enough it starts to get bad. Just to note, I only ever use premium fuel, and it’s FWD. Have all the driver assist and what not turned off (though annoying beep beep beep cross traffic alert turns back on every time). Only happens from a complete stop, especially if I try to hit it hard.

I took it to the dealer and they applied a software update and said it was good to go but obviously not.

Curious if anyone has had any luck getting a fix beyond a software update?

My wife's 2017 V6 RX350 has this hesitation. I have not noticed in my 2023 2.4 Turbo RX350.

I tested it today and I think it’s definitely related to the AC level. Pulled out of my garage with AC fairly low but not too low and was stopping and going just fine. A little ways in, I cranked up my AC all the way and the delay issue immediately started when trying to accelerate from a complete stop. Can you try this on yours, @bdspilot ?

Just to clarify, I have a 2023 RX FWD, so non hybrid.

I will give it a try, I also use only Premium fuel, FWD assist features off.. I haven't had any software updates though. I definitely feel the hesitation more when it gets up to 100.

Default Hesitation

2023 Rx350 fsport

Ran like a top until about a month ago. Hesitation off the line, actually bogs down and just sits there for a full second or so. Better if I’m really lite on the pedal to start with.
Always run top tier premium, like it says to on the gas door. It likes Shell premium the best, so I’m just using Shell for a while.
Dealer had it for two days, turbo lag was the diagnostic answer. This is not turbo anything, more like it’s running too rich. Which with a direct injection system is pretty hard to get to.
