Default Hesitation on start on RX350 (non hybrid)

I’ve had my 350 for 7 months and the throttle response was great till about 2weeks ago. Lastly it’s been slow to respond when starting from a stop.

Did you put it in eco mode? That will make the throttle pedal less responsive.

Your choices are normal, eco, or sport.

Don't panic until you buy the next tank of gasoline. Might have gotten a questionable batch.

Use only Top Tier gas, your RX will thank you.

Are you using auto start/stop? Turn it off and see if it gets off the line without hesitation.

You should not have to disable auto start/stop for the car to not hesitate.

If it is truly hesitating, take it to the dealer and have them check it out.

I've noticed the same thing on my RX - have had the car since mid-March, 1,275 miles, normal drive mode - though it seems a bit better or less noticeable if I put it in Sport mode. Would premium gas REALLY help with this?

You can try premium but I doubt it will make a difference.

Since the non hybrid RX does require (not recommend) high test gas, this is the first thing I would try.

We have the same issue with my wife's RX350 purchased in January. Sometimes when stepping on the gas pedal from a dead stop the car just sits there, then takes off once the throttle kicks in (the engine is running at the time, so auto stop/start is the not the problem). Makes pulling out into a gap in traffic very sporty because you never know if the car is going to go or not. We only use premium gas in "Normal" mode, although not always top tier. I have just noticed the issue in the past month, while my wife has complained about it off and on since new (she is the primary driver of the vehicle).

Haven't experienced this yet but only have 500 miles, will watch for it. Unfortunately the emissions rules on these cars do affect hard throttle tip in, on many cars.

It's the turbo kicking in I think.
