Phone is renamed to "Passive"...?
I have a Galaxy S22, named Matt's S22
My RX500h keeps referring to my phone as "Passive" in theSource and Bluetooth screens, but it doesn't change the name on the phone.
Since I have gotten the RX, the phone also shows up as "Passive" on my wife's SUV.
Anyone seen this before...?

I dont know, but my 500H refuses to connect to my phone if I ever do a reset to fix something buggy on the phone, even if it wasnt near the car.
This infotainment is very buggy and lackluster in terms of options.
Weird considering all the menus and sub menus it has.

Remove the apostrophe in the name of your phone and try again. "Matts S22". Not sure if you have to delete the bluetooth record for the current phone and re-pair.

Do you see a bluetooth network called "LEXUS RX" on your phone? That's the default name for the network on the car that you have to pair too. As noted above, I would make sure my phone name had no special characters in it, just alphanumerics and spaces.

The name stuck for about 3 days, but now has been reverted to PASSIVE.
I think it has nothing to do with the characters in the name I choose. I'd assume Lexus in 2023 is mildly sophisticated.
Any other ideas?

Is your phone paired to any other bluetooth devices? Speakers, ear pods, etc? Or paired to any other cars?

OK - I changed my phone name to ensure it did not have any symbols, just MATT S22p
Stuck for a day, today it reverted back to Passive.
I wonder if it has anything to do with remote starting of the vehicle...?
I am paired properly to the Lexus RX.
Yes - my phone has many other items in my Bluetooth list, but they are not paired simultaneously - only the RX

The space is fine, it's not that.

I too have been experiencing the passive issue. My RX is at the dealer for few issues, this being one of them. I have been working with their diagnostic specialist and he has been in touch with his next level Lexus counterparts. They claim they have not seen this issue and suggested full reset of the infotainment system and re-setup. I am reluctant to do this at this time as we are leaving for vacation soon. My other concern that I expressed is that it took me many hours to get everything working properly, dual profiles, facial recognition, digital keys. etc. The diagnostic specialist understood my concern and asked if I wanted a job as a technology specialist. I politely declined. He also said he did some research and found that there may be some conflict with fitness devices. He is going to submit a product report. I told him we could look into the issue again when I go in to have my second key fob programmed, which I have not received yet.
I would suggest that if you are having this issue that you report it to Lexus somehow. He said the more reports they get the more attention the issue will receive.

In bluetooth parlance, "passive" may mean that the pairing is being monitored by a third device, or that the car is monitoring a different pairing. That's why I was asking if the phones were paired with any other devices, your fitness device comment above might be something.

The primary device is not connected or being monitored by anything else.
My wife's phone, "Cindy's S22", is not renamed although it is considered the secondary device.

Same issue on 2023 RX 350h
I have the exact same issue on my 2023 RX350h with Google Pixel 6.
Whenever I start Lexus app (which hangs 80% of the time anyways), my phone Bluetooth name changes to "Passive".
This is super frustrating as it messes up how my phone's name is displayed on other Bluetooth devices.
Anyone finding any solution - please chime in here.
