Brand new Lexus RX350 has issues
#138
I must be in the minority of people who are impressed by the performance of the 23 RX350. I have always driven sports/performance cars and just assumed the RX would be a boring appliance when my wife expressed her interest in buying one. We have a Focus RS which has brutally stiff suspension and aggressively bolstered seats, so we were looking for a second car to use as a daily driver. I found the 23 RX suspension to be surprisingly responsive and not floaty, and it rips off the line with its impressive low-end torque. I had originally contemplated going with an SQ5 for the performance, but was apprehensive due to multiple past bad experiences with German cars. At the end of the day, the RX is engaging enough for a daily. My only criticism is related to a couple noises/rattles that I will try to have sorted out when it goes in for the first service.

Somebody must have merged two completely different threads; mine from yesterday, and this much older (and more important to owners) thread about cam phaser issues - well that's just completely confusing. My post was started yesterday and is called " After 3 months of RX350 ownership..." it starts at message #116 above now.

On 08-01-23 our new RX-350 Premium+ with less than 600 miles displayed multiple warning lights and messages. Called dealer and was told to have it towed in as it was not safe to drive. After running diagnostics was told it was a CAM sensor problem and were waiting for Lexus Tech Support to tell them what needed to be done. They had another vehicle with the same issue. A week later I was told that parts were on order and expected the following week (CAM Gear). A week later Lexus told the dealer not to install the parts sent as that was not the fix and they were working on a solution. On 08-22-23 I was told that Lexus had come up with a "software fix" but it had to be submitted to NHTSA for govermental approval. I'm dudious about the "software fix" and I requested a buy back. Was told it would be forwarded to the appropiate department and to expect a response within 10 days. On 08-31-23, after 30 days have passed I intend to serve final notice to repair under the SC lemon law. We shall see what happens. I am so disappointed in this car. My wife and I are retired and this was to be our touring vehicle.
Today we finally completed the buyback process on our 2023 RX350, and it was quite the experience. With such low mileage Lexus waived the mileage charge, and gave us all our money back. We have decided to go with an Acura MDX Advance.

Congratulations. That is a great choice, if you don't mind the 19MPG. I chose the 350h just for fuel savings, otherwise the V6 is very nice.

Interesting. I'm looking at the premium SUV segment and was originally based on Lexus, Genesis and Audi. However, based on the Audi Q5 forums and feedback from many who have owned Audi, no longer on the short list. Test drove the Genesis GV70 not long ago and was actually really impressed. A tennis buddy bought one last year and has nothing but praise (picking up/valet oil changes/servicing was next level for him). The Genesis recently placing on the Car and Driver 10 Best SUV and Trucks is no small feat. This Lexus RX forum is really troubling so a tough call here between the RX and Genesis..

Has a owner of the first generation of Genesis car, I was pleased with the car in general. After 13 years and good reliability I was looking for a change.
First on the list at that time was the GV70, but after sitting in of one of my buddies, just didn’t have a crush for the inside, the luxury was there but didn’t like the screen 📺 and had no stick shift. The rest was fine except for the gas mileage that I considered average low.
after the gv70 I had a flash for a few months on a new Venza platinum but was hard to find in 2022-23
And finally decide to go on the RX350h, I still like the new look compare to the old model, and the main reason was reliability, resale value , also I appreciate the space inside and the smooth quiet ride
i bought it in November 22, received the car on July 23, Fit my needs

No, this is a series of video that I have produced for the NX and RX. The NX and RX are essentially the same beast for most models except for the 500h. Common problems are found like the frozen door handles and infotainment info. You don't need to own an RX to see what owners report.
