It appears a few people have had exhaust cam phaser issues. Oil changes have taken care of it for some but others needed it replaced. It might just be something as silly as some RTV floating around that shouldn't be and not the design of the oiling system used to adjust cam timing.

I haven't lost confidence in my RX, but I will say the comments here have made me be more proactive about noticing little things before they become big things. The reality is, other than the problematic proactive cruise on my car and the illogical GUI programming on all 2023 RXs, the car seems fine - and I fully expect both of these issues will improve or be resolved with future software updates. Anytime I question my purchase, I go over to the Audi World Q5 forum and read about $20k USD repair bills for clogged moonroof drains that shorted out control modules, leaking motor mounts, failed main seals, $2000 brake jobs, and stretched timing chains... that helps me keep things in focus on the RX. Not dismissing anyone's own concerns and experiences, but I have no doubt I made the right choice with my RX purchase versus getting another Q5 or an X5.

^ my cousin bought a new Audi A6 with the V6 and the dealer ended up taking it back and giving him a new one.
I'm going to be interested to see if Consumer Reports finds issues when they do their annual survey...I personally find that the car has more electronic "features" that are not benefits to me, and can be the cause of problems.
But so far my car is fine...

I brought my 2022 *NXh* in for service and mentioned to the service advisor that I’m considering an upgrade to the *RX* as I’d like some extra space for dogs. She told me to “stay away” — or “buy two because one will be in the shop all the time.” Yikes. Disappointing but I appreciate the honesty.

Were she referring to all the 5th gen RX in general or just the non-hybrid ones?

Both. I didn’t get any more detail other than “mechanical problems.” Maybe the 2024 model will be more reliable?

AFAIK the mechanicals are the same on the 2024s. That said I would never buy a turbo.

Default Major 2023 RX350 Issues

Guys, so I got a 2023 RX350, and after 800 miles, I decided to get out and get a burger. Well, I open the car, and try to start the car, and it starts making huge buzzing noises, the dash lights are all over the place, blinking on and off, and the car won't turn on at all. The battery is good since I have been driving it, and all the sudden the car won't start at all.

Video 1) https://youtube.com/shorts/ELYE5cNMdTk?feature=share <--- this is the first thing that happened when I tried to start the car.

Video 2) https://youtube.com/shorts/gTMfQ3ToVQ8?feature=share <---- this is what happened when I kept trying to turn the car on.

Video 3) https://youtube.com/shorts/qAncOrFYTOE?feature=share <---- this is what happened when I kept trying to turn the car on.

at this point, the car does not even start, the lights go crazy, so I have no idea what to do with it besides call Lexus roadside service and have it towed to the closest Lexus dealership for repair, I guess? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I agree, unless they have a definite fix get the 350h or another vehicle.

The oil change will not fix the problem, that’s for sure.

Could be low battery voltage but unlikely since the car is so new. Many new cars go crazy like that with low battery voltage. Call the dealer for the tow.

The oil change is not going to fix these issues. Unless is like the issue with the Camry V6 engines 12 years ago when they called it engine oil gelling.

Update: Called Lexus Road assistance for a jump-start. They jump started the car, and all the sudden it cranked and started up. BUT I still have the error message in attached image. The car sat for maybe one or two days at the most in the garage, so I don't understand how the voltage can get all ****ed up over 2 days of sitting? Can the Lexus dealership replace the battery by the warranty or something? And it is always a risk of it happening again if the car sits again for a couple of days, so I am not sure what exactly to ask of Lexus besides changing out the battery for another one and looking at all the error messages as the one below.

Paint on the car is barely dry they are obligated to fix any issues.

no way. Toyota is making huge bet on this engine - Tacoma, LC. All issues what people are describing here it is not turbo problem per se but some electronic related. Bad sensor. Friend of mine has 2022 and it spent month in the shop because of faulty sensor.
