Default RX Rear Sill Guard

Has anyone here purchased and installed one of these rear sill guards? If so, please review it.

Looks expensive.

I just had a local shop cut some PPF and protect from the rubber tailgate seal down. I figure that will actually protect against scratches better than products like what you linked... And it was cheaper: $60.

The dealer already installed PPF there as part of their forced option package. I think it's insufficient in an area where there is frequent loading and unloading. I'd like something more substantial.

Your car your choice, of course. I think PPF will actually protect better and look better and be more easily replaced in the future.

Dealer or Lexus? Lexus had it as a port installed option as well.

Dealer installed the official Lexus PPF material. Hauling my son's tuba (in case) scratched it completely. Both front doors also show nicks on the PPF. Holding up well on the front and mirrors, but I have little faith in it. The rear sill needs something heavy duty.

Just noticed Weathertech has what they're calling a Bumpertopper "Coming soon". Could be an option.

The type of protector that wraps over the edge would be a better purchase, IMHO. (Like the Weathertech one)

The Weathertech one is $80 CAD including shipping. Doesn't strike me as that expensive?

I have the Lexus option because it came with the car. I am actually thinking of getting a piece of black naugahyde or something like it cut to the width of the back and long enough to be tucked under the back rubber mat to stay in place. When not needed I could store it under the mat or on top. Not sure of the cost/look/storage but will be looking into it.

In lieu of any type of permanent protector, we just have a black moving blanket on the floor of our RX's cargo area.
It is positioned so that ~6'' can be folded down over the bumper. If needed, it could be pulled down lower so that stuff won't mar the painted bumpers.
Folds up in a second.

Picked up the new 350h today and I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a thermoplastic scuff guard on the rear sill of the hatch.

The it was either port installed option on your Monroney or some mistakenly put it on your car.
