The noise is air coming into the front air dam, that air dam has large flaps.
@jsch222 See if they can give you pictures of the flaps in question...

OR, we will raise a flap of our own.

as mentioned, we haven't heard of any humming while cruising...

I'll request they show me the flaps.

Angry '23 RX Turbo Luxury highway wind noise

Has anyone found a resolution for this very annoying wind noise? It became noticeable around 6k miles and is getting worse. A buzzing/ vibration type noise above 65mph. It can be stopped by pulling behind a large vehicle and disrupting the airflow.

The attached video is 23 seconds long and shows pulling into and out of a truck slipstream.

I'll be taking this upon with dealer during upcoming 10k service and would love to include others experiences.

Thank goodness it seems Lexus might be zeroing in on the issue and a resolution.

I have had mine in now 7 times for this noise. I have taken it to 2 different dealers as well. Same story every time. They hear it and they don't. No one has actually taken more then a day to look into it or even reach out to Lexus for help. They have changed some random parts like the left front door chrome trim, door seal and body seal. But as soon as I start driving home I can hear it. I know this noise is from the front bumper.

I hope what ever fix jsch222 find works.

I am going to reach out to Lexus Canada about it again. Last time I called they were no help at all.

I'm beginning to wonder if this issue is more noticeable with lower ambient air temperatures; here in VA it was in the low 20sF/-6C last week, and I noticed the sound starting at much lower speeds than back when the weather was warmer. I could start hearing it around 50mph but in warmer weather it usually started around 60-65mph. If it is indeed being caused by those flaps vibrating in the air dam, I suppose it would make sense that they might vibrate differently with temperature changes.

Lower Temps do make the noise increase. I was out one night the was super cold and it was the loudest I have ever heard it and also at much lower speeds.

I noticed this also when temps dropped last week here on the East coast. The noise could be heard as low a 50mph and was much louder than normal at highway speeds. When I first noticed the problem in October, I couldn't hear anything until hitting 78+ mph!

There's an audio clip of the sound on this Reddit thread:

I guess everyone has it, but some are less sensitive to it or drive at lower speeds. For example, I rarely drive about 65mph on the roads I frequent - so I don't really notice it but might if I drove 70-75mph. Its definitely that front grille, the area behind it is "hollow" and is resonating from the airflow.

I am not really sure what Lexus' obligation is to fix it. They may just say that this is what this car sounds like at speed. My bet, that to fix this, the nose will likely have to come off the car - I think I would live with the noise before having the dealer perform such an invasive repair, but that's just my opinion of course.

I agree to a point but not one person (here, Reddit and Facebook) has ever reported having this noise when they drove off the lot. Accounts generally indicate it started up about 5,000 miles +-, which says to me that something has shifted or has failed.

Like you, I don’t notice it when driving around town, but it is unnerving on a road trip. I will be perusing this thoroughly with Lexus as others are in the process of doing currently.
