I've only been to Virginia in the summer (loved Virginia Beach - gimme some of those crab cakes from Surfrider any day!!), so unless you get regular snow and ice or travel to where they have that like some of the Eastern ski resorts, you should be fine.
Nokian WRG4 are fantastic! I live in the snow belt (Rochester NY) we average 100in of snow a year. I would have a set of summer tires/rims and snow tires/rims. Switched to the all weather WRG4 and have had no issues. Did this on my 2013 RX350, ran through two sets almost 3 before I traded the car in. There are also the Toyo Celsius tires you can try. They are a little less expensive but also claim to be an all weather tire. I never tried them since I had good luck with the Nokian.

I had Michelin Cross Climate II all season tires on my last FWD car and they performed really well in the snow. Almost as good as winter tires, I think.

We had them on our 2013 RX350 AWD. I've never owned a tire that exceled in so many ways before.
